Academics@UCSD Survey Roundtables: Workload
The next series of themed roundtables as part of Phase 2 of the 2020 Academics@UCSD Survey Analysis will focus on workload for academic appointees. The purpose of these roundtables is to solicit your reactions to the survey results, better understand the extent to which they resonate with your personal experiences, and provide the opportunity to learn more about your ongoing needs.

Celebrate Triton Changemakers and get inspired to enact change yourself during UC San Diego’s Third Annual Changemaker Week.
Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Service
January 18 – January 23

In place of a one-day service event, this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service will be a weeklong series of sessions focusing on service, dialogue, and training. Each event will focus on how to stay meaningfully connected at a local level while virtual.

2020-21 Request for Proposals for the UC-HBCU Initiative

The goal of the UC-HBCU Initiative is to increase the number of scholars from Historically Black Colleges and Universities completing UC academic doctoral programs. A new grant category, Small Research Grants, will award up to $50,000 for research projects designed to improve inclusion and the experience of UC-HBCU students generally, and Black students in particular, enrolled in UC doctoral programs.
Faculty Leadership in Diversity Grant

Are you interested in advancing diversity and equity? Is there a conference, workshop, or other opportunity that would enhance your leadership skills in EDI? FDI offer small grants of $500 to $3,000 to support faculty who want to transform their knowledge around diversity into strategic action. Allowable costs include professional coaching, conference or workshop fees.
Scholar Spotlight
Now in its second year, the Changemaker Faculty Fellows Program has named 16 faculty members in its 2020-2022 cohort. This program enables faculty members to build a robust learning community and campus network of changemakers committed to addressing real world challenges through their teaching.
We are offering Faculty Peer Mediation services online. Mediation is an alternative form of conflict resolution that's informal (no paper trail), collaborative, and confidential.

AVC Contreras regularly meets with faculty on issues related to faculty diversity, equity, retention and climate. 
EDI offers Anti-Racism Resources to support your personal edification and discussions with students, colleagues, and teams regarding racism. If you would like direct assistance to address bias and racism in your unit, please complete the EDI Engagement and Resources Request Form and a staff member will reach out to you.
