Project Work Scope
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is upgrading and installing a new drainage system to improve capacity, reconstructing curb and gutter, enhancing sidewalks, modifying driveways and repaving and restriping the roadway at Alton Road and W 46 Street in Miami Beach.

Lane Closure Information
Travel lanes and sidewalks within the work zone will be closed during non-peak hours on non-event days. Non-peak hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To support the safe and efficient completion of construction activities, crews will implement a single‑lane closure along northbound Alton Road before W 46 Street. One northbound travel lane will remain open at all times to maintain continuous traffic flow. Access to all businesses, residences and driveways will be preserved throughout the project.
Clearly marked detours for both pedestrians and vehicles will be in place, with signage guiding travelers safely through and around the work zone.
Schedule
This project will commence on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 and will be completed by summer 2026.
