KEY UPDATE : CBP Duty Payment Extensions
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced today that it will accept requests for duty payment extensions due to the severity of the coronavirus. On Wednesday, March 18th, FDRA led a multi-association letter urging the Administration to implement this delay in duty payments.

According to the announcement, CBP will approve the delays "on a case by case basis." CBP made the announcement through the Cargo Systems Messaging Service, and we expect CBP to release a formal Federal Register Notice in the coming days with more details. We will cover this and other important developments on our weekly FDRA coronavirus call on Tuesday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
