February 10th: 9AM at Gracie Mansion to Senator Schumer; Seniors Testify at Council Hearing!
On Wednesday, Feb. 10th, our seniors (62 and older) are testifying at the City Council Committee on Immigration and Aging Joint Hearing at 10AM. We will gather at Gracie Mansion at 9AM, hold a press conference, and rally while our brothers and sisters testify. We will then drive in a motorcade to the home of Senator Schumer in Brooklyn.

SENATOR CHUCK SCHUMER:
As the Majority Leader in the Senate, Senator Schumer is leading the negotiations over the stimulus bill. He is also the top ranking official in New York State. Senator Schumer can help us find a federal program to act as a loan guarantor, and he can call on the Mayor to do right by us. Senator Schumer can also get bill H.R. 5617 (sponsored by Congressman Gregory Meeks) to be included in stimulus bill so that medallion owners do not have to pay a tax on any debt amount that is forgiven.
