Training Grant Announcement: Spring Round II

Due to high demand and available resources, we have opened a second round for Spring 2021 of Incumbent Worker Training Grants.

Our Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program may be just what you need to help train your existing employees, to increase productivity and boost your company's competitiveness.
The benefits to your business include:
  • Address skills gaps in your existing workforce and
  • Help boost your productivity and/or avert layoffs.


Applications are due 12:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 

Training Dates: Businesses interested in this grant opportunity may apply for this round of funding to offer training programs that will be delivered to their workforce between March 15, 2021 and June 18, 2021.

Open To: Any company size and industry sectors.
 
Amount: Though cost of training may be more, the grant amounts may not exceed $10,000 per business per program year.​

The WOW Factor

The WOW Factor features local talent in search of employment opportunities. The majority of our clients qualify for our On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, which on average can save businesses about $3,500 on new hires for the extraordinary costs of providing training and additional supervision related to the training.

Our turnaround time is fairly quick, so make sure to contact your Business Solutions Representative before you extend a job offer to your next hire.

Work-Share Program Waiver

Jan 11, 2021 - Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek today waived the requirement that Work-Share plans operate no longer than six months for any work unit in a five-year period.

By signing this waiver, Work-Share plans may extend longer than six months, up to 12 months, during a five-year period within the same work unit.
