I'm excited about our upcoming learning opportunities and plans for Spring 2024. And, of course, our SRP24 program - so many good ways to tie-in the theme to our New Mexico museums, parks, historic sites, and natural resources.
Be sure to take note of our SRP workshops with Explora, and the new Notes from the Field series that will take place during our Monday Youth Services meeting timeslot for the next three months.

Adventure Begins at Your Library
It's CSLP Slogan and Theme Survey Time!
Each year CSLP seeks feedback from front line library professionals - Library folks from across the nation contribute their ideas, and together, CSLP's Board & State Reps come to a consensus.
Slogans should be brief phrases that fit the 2027 theme of Detective/Mystery/Suspense while Theme ideas for 2028 should be 1-2 word concepts like "Oceanography" or "World languages" (See previous themes and slogans here)

Registration is now open for three workshop opportunities from NMSL and Explora.
Two in-person and one virtual. These are a great chance to learn and share about Summer Reading and other NMSL resources, and have hands-on experience with the STEM to Read created by Explora and available to public libraries from NMSL.

Smokey Bear Reading Challenge
New Mexico State Library is registered as a participating partner with the national Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. program. Libraries will receive print materials for all of their branches, as well as have access to the online digital toolkit with printable certificates, posters, games, and social media graphics. Access the digital toolkit here.
We anticipate mailing out materials in February. Please reach out with any additional questions.

Live Trainings - HelpNow and JobNow
All New Mexicans have access to Brainfuse HelpNow and JobNow through elportalnm.org or your library homepage. Take advantage of these New Mexico trainings to better serve your patrons.
HelpNow is a homework help and skills building resource designed for K-12 students and beyond. This training will cover all of the services and features available to your patrons including:
