SHINING STARS
Feed The Need is honored to recognize Roger & Diana Jones as “Shining Stars” for their continuous support and commitment to Feed the Need of Putnam County, Inc. As of January 2018, Feed the Need of Putnam County, Inc has been an Incorporated Non-Profit 501-c food program for Putnam County’s food insecure children. The program sends food home every weekend with students in Putnam County who are food insecure. This program is currently servicing all 10 elementary schools and 5 middle schools and 1 High School. There are approximately 50-125 students per school. It is estimated that over 5000 children under the age of 18 in Putnam County are food insecure. It is Roger & Diana’s desire & ambition of helping Feed the Need of Putnam County, Inc. that make Roger & Diana both a “Shining Star” in my book.
There are not enough words to say how many hours the Jones’ put into feeding children in Putnam County each week. Roger & Diana have taken on the HUGE responsibility of running the Feed the Need of Putnam County, Inc.’s warehouse food sorting department. They coordinate with volunteers to sort and pack food onto pallets for each of our participating schools to pick up. When we needed help Roger & Diana stepped up to the plate. They have huge hearts, and it shows to all who encounter them. Roger & Diana are such an important part of our Feed the Need Family. There are many ways in which you can help or become a volunteer like Roger & Diana. You can volunteer your time at the schools by sorting the food and giving out the weekend packs to students on Fridays.
