The FEI Dallas Chapter membership directory is a hardcopy booklet published annually and distributed to all chapter members in good standing to help connect with FEI colleagues and chapter sponsors. Each chapter member has a personal listing showing name, company, job title, preferred address, phone number, email address, LinkedIn address, and a headshot. Member data is downloaded from the FEI member database.
DEADLINE EXTENDED
Work & Contact Information | Review and update by September 30
FEI members should visit the chapter website by Thursday, September 30, to review and update your profile information. Log in using your FEI member credentials if you’re not already logged in, and click your name at the top of the page to go to your profile where you can view and update work and contact information, and other aspects of your FEI member record. Changes are reflected in both the chapter’s printed directory and the online member directory. Note: You can update your member record at any time; however, updates by September 20 will be reflected in this year’s printed membership directory.
Headshots | Due by September 30 if you wish to add or replace your existing headshot
Headshots are invaluable in connecting with your FEI colleagues. Headshots in last year’s directory will be pulled forward unless a replacement is sent. We do not download images from the FEI website as web images are not print quality. Low-resolution images like your LinkedIn headshot will not work for print publications. FEI members who wish to add or replace your existing headshot should send a high-resolution image formatted for print to Sharla Hibberd, sharla.hibberd@feidallas.org.

Are Today’s Equity Markets Rational? – GameStop vs. Wall Street
Presented by The University of Texas at Dallas
This meeting was originally scheduled to be in person but is now virtual.
GameStop (GME), a Dallas-based company, was trading at $4/share 14 months ago. By last September it doubled, by December it doubled again, then during three weeks in January the share price exploded, peaking at $380. What does it mean when individual investors using social media platforms like Reddit produce a short squeeze that brings billion-dollar hedge funds to their knees? Many of us have wondered if patterns of personal investing have really changed. Was this just a joke done by a crowd of renegades? Or is this something we should pay attention to? There is more. What are the implications of the changed corporate financings, changed corporate valuations, and new marketing approaches we have seen as a result? Are there wider changes afoot than democratization given the rise of social media and information flows? What are financial actors like hedge funds, investment managers, wealth managers doing in response? Will there be regulatory changes? Could the emergence of consumer power in financial markets spread elsewhere?
David Springate, Ph.D. | Finance Professor & Director, UT Dallas Center for Finance Strategy Innovation (moderator)
Panelists:
Dory Wiley | President & CEO, Commerce Street Holdings | Heads an investment bank and management company targeted at private equity and hedge funds
Ron Nash | Principal, Nash Technology Group | A former technology executive with Fortune 500 companies, a former venture capital executive, and a former CEO or chairman of multiple IT companies
