Chapter Happenings and Updates
Message from Chapter President Anita Moulton
and Executive Director Rosanne Bump
FEI is where financial leaders thrive. Thank you for your FEI membership and continued interest in FEI. There are no words to adequately describe the impact 2020 has had on each of you. You’ve had to demonstrate new levels of leadership, integrity, courage and resilience. FEI has worked with you, side by side, providing high quality virtual programs, speakers, networking and opportunities to LEARN – CONNECT – LEAD, both locally and nationally.

We have a lot to look forward to in 2021 and are committed to advancing the success of finance leaders, their organizations and the profession. Our Strategic Plan is built on these fundamentals. It is time to make your New Year’s resolutions for 2021! This edition of the FEITC Newsletter provides you with many opportunities to start the New Year off strong! Consider joining our Trusted Peer Groups. Be sure to save the date, June 21, 2021, for our annual Golf Event at North Oaks Golf Club.

We are very fortunate to have generous contributions from our Strategic Partners and are thankful for their partnership in fulfilling our mission.

Be Safe!

Membership Updates
We are committed to advancing the success of you,
your organization, and the profession and look
forward to working with you in the coming year. Please
contact us if we can do anything for you!
Dues Reduction Reminder:
Given the current economic environment related to COVID-19, the Twin Cities Board of Directors voted to reduce local membership dues by $200 for Executive, Academic and Entrepreneur levels effective this past July. This discount will be reflected on your renewal invoice and new members will be able to take advantage of these savings too. The new dues will be $499.

If you would like to pay your dues this calendar year please contact membership@financialexecutives.org for assistance before December 23rd.

In-Person Meeting Update:
Like all organizations, due to safety concerns, we are not able to provide in-person meetings at this time. We recognize this is an important way many of you connect to FEI Twin Cities and to other finance professionals in the area. At this time all meetings will remain virtual through 3/31/2021. We will continue to evaluate this in the coming months.

Golf Event Set for 6/21/21:
We are looking forward to seeing you, live and in-person(!), at our annual golf outing on Monday, June 21 at the North Oaks Golf Club. The day will include golf, fun and prizes. Golfers of all skills and abilities welcome. Consider recruiting a foursome of colleagues, friends, spouses or we can place you with other golfers. If you're not a golfer, no problem, you can join us for lunch or dinner!

North Oaks is one of the finest courses in North America. From championship tees, the par 71 course weaves and rolls over 6,655 yards, perfect for all levels of golfers. This is a fun opportunity to network with finance professionals and guests from around the Twin Cities. More info here

Advance Your Leadership Skills in 2021 with our
Trusted Peer Group!

It's a new year - consider joining a Trusted Peer Group to build your network, brainstorm solutions to challenges with your peers and advance your career!

This is an opportunity for FEI members to meet in small groups for a facilitated discussion with finance professionals in similar roles. Topics include challenges, successes, shared interest, career paths, benchmarking, insights for the group and more!

Here is what current members have to say about the program:

"The networking and info sharing has saved countless hours and
real dollars for my firm by sharing reliable contacts in audit firms."

"I feel having a "safe" place to talk about our work challenges away
from work and the owners of our companies is important. It is a great
place to talk with like-minded finance professionals about issues, both
personal and professional, in a supportive environment.
I love our camaraderie part of the meetings."

"I really appreciate our group. I feel there is huge value in unplugging once
a month to meet with fellow CFO's and talk business, personal, problems, issues, celebrations, new thoughts and techniques. I like having Prouty facilitate. I
feel they are on the cutting edge of business trends, planning and strategy."

"Love the program and my peers, really appreciate having this group.
They've helped me a ton with questions and ideas in my role and
I have built a much stronger network of CFO's as a result."

Expand your network and work smarter, not harder, in 2021! Consider joining a Trusted Peer Group to build your network and problem solve in real-time.
I am interested in learning more about this program!

Diversity and
Inclusion Update

FEI is devoted to encouraging environments and actions that display dignity, respect, fairness, peace, and equality. It is through this commitment to personal and professional conduct that our members will continue to challenge their peers and our organization to rise to a higher standard.

Here is the latest update on the many activities FEI is working on both nationally and locally:

  • The FEI National D&I Task Force has finalized the FEI Diversity and Inclusion Vision Statement: FEI strives to be a diverse and inclusive community of financial leaders. FEI promotes continuous learning by its members and the industry on new models for supporting a climate of equity and inclusion that results in greater representation within member organizations. All FEI members actively engage, collaborate, and network with each other and with other organizations that share a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. FEI is recognized as an influencer, leader, and change agent for diversity and inclusion efforts through its membership.

  • The D&I Task Force has recommended changing the name of this task force to a committee, with a committee in place at a national level, which shows our continuing commitments to D&I efforts in the long run.

  • The Task Force will have a new platform within "FEI Connect community" for members of the task force to communicate or brainstorm ideas on D&I events or programs.

  • Task Force next step is to figure out a road map and metrics based on our current vision statement, and then develop the D&I programs and content for educational or learning objectives.

D&I Workshops and Webinars: Brent Lonson, Judy Wright, George Boyadjis and other FEI Board Members have been instrumental in arranging upcoming workshops. Look for more in the coming year. We hope you can join us for this session!

  • Wednesday, January 13, 11:30 AM – 1 PM CT, Moving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forward — Back to Business featuring Tawanna Black.  Protests have risen around the globe to advance racial equity, inclusion, justice, and respect. Companies seek to move these goals forward but also want to know that their actions are making a difference. So, what are the key indicators of an inclusive economy? And, what can financial executives and board members do to advance inclusive growth and prosperity in the communities served by their companies? This is a joint event with NACD. Register Here
