I’ve worked in finance my entire career and have had many great leaders and mentors to help bounce ideas off and receive feedback and guidance.
When I accepted my CFO position two years ago, I needed to broaden my network of experienced finance leaders who could help with brainstorming, questions and ideas for running a company.
I joined the FEI Trusted Peer Groups and have been both impressed and grateful to connect with so many thought leaders in the metro area. The groups include a wide range of experiences and expertise and it is rare for an issue to arise that somebody doesn’t have experience tackling.
Our monthly meetings provide an opportunity to share what is working well, not working, and questions that ultimately spark great conversations and lead to out of the box thinking. We have had opportunities to hear from relevant speakers and to tour several local businesses during my time with the group.
Through the TPG I was introduced to The Prouty Project, who facilitates our monthly meetings, and joined their Prouty iWill program that focuses on empowering women leaders.
These experiences and connections have made me a stronger leader and have broadened my professional network with trusted finance professionals.
