September 2022 Newsletter

Dear FFRW Members and Friends:

Hurricane Ian came and went, like an out of control freight train leaving a $30 Billion dollar path of destruction through our beloved state. We mourn the loss of life and the misery it caused our friends and neighbors. The only good thing I can say about this catastrophe is, thank God Ron DeSantis is our governor. He has been on top of this crisis since it appeared on our radar. He led the strategic planning for the recovery like the military officer that he is. He mobilized the National Guard and pre-positioned assets around the state knowing that once the storm passed our neighbors would need the help that only a competent leader can provide.

He is the face of the relief effort. He was on television every 3 hours before during and after. He is calling the shots and he is doing a fantastic job at it. Contrast this with the way our Vice President is handling the border crisis or the way our HHS secretary is lost on the Covid Front. Please don’t get me started on DHS Secretary Mayorkas and his delusional Border ideas of Homeland security. These people are completely inept at their positions. Imagine the nightmare that Governor Andrew Gillum would have been in this time of need. He would have been out of town on Martha’s Vineyard doing drugs and listening to Hamilton show tunes.

Ladies our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are effected by this tragedy and we hope that their lives are returned to normal as soon as possible. But mark my words, elections have consequences, and our having elected Gov. DeSantis saved countless lives. Leadership does not come from having the right ethnicity or gender, Leadership and strength of character are personality traits that we need in our elected officials, not a belief in the popular progressive talking points of the moment.

Remember this week’s tragedy when you go to vote this November 8th. Thank you and May God Bless the survivors of Hurricane Ian.

God bless America!

ALL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES

KEEP FLORIDA FREE!

Throughout the year around 25 Brevard Federated Republican Women spend over 350 hours assisting homeless veterans and veteran families in need. The value these Republican women add to overall community life throughout this county in unmeasurable. All veterans, homeless veterans, and veteran families-in-need know that we care about them, and we will work to tirelessly improve the quality of their lives.

One program we financially support is SUDS. The SUDS program is an initiative of several Brevard County veteran organizations who pick up veterans from homeless encampments and take them to a cooperating Laundromat where they can wash and dry their clothes and get a free lunch. We partner with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts to fund SUDS programs in Melbourne, Titusville, and Palm Bay. In 2022 we budgeted $1,200.00 for the SUDS program, which is distributed as a quarterly donation of $100.00 to each location. The BFRW also assists homeless veterans throughout the year by collecting clothing, toiletries, washcloths, and towels and other essentials.

The BFRW also supports the Volunteers of America transitional housing initiative with a financial contribution for the renovation of housing units for veterans. Recently a homeless air force veteran was able to finance her own home with the assistance of Volunteers of America. The BFRW was there with a $500 check to help her buy furniture and other necessities to make her new house her home.

It was wonderful to see so many FFRW members at the Fall Conference in Orlando! We had a fun-filled, packed, informative 3 days of learning, engaging, and getting to know one another. The committee chairs shared a few ideas that each club can consider implementing. I briefly spoke about external communication and how it can benefit your club.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

External communication is simply how to reach out to your local media outlets and local publications. Over the next few months, we will highlight different ways to communicate with your local media to get your message and/or events out to your community.

The following are a few steps to get you started:

  • First create a list of your local reporters who handle political stories or events. You can do this by contacting all the local channel affiliates in your area, as well as your local publications.
  • Once you have a list of reporters, call, or email them introducing yourself and explain why you are contacting them.
  • Next you must provide each reporter a media or press kit about your club.
  • Lastly, you must provide a press release that informs the reporter about your event.

In our next communications corner, we will break down what a media kit is, its purpose and what information goes into the kit. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

The General Election is right around the corner! All our clubs have been busy campaigning, stuffing, and putting together candidate packets and training to work at the polls. Don’t miss out on opportunities to promote your club as well. Here are some tips to help:

As you assist with campaigns and meet new Republican women in the community, be prepared with your club information and invite them to your next meeting or get together

  • Send letters or emails in October, November & December to ALL members stressing it is time to renew and recruit new members

  • Make time in the next meeting for the Membership Chair to highlight renewal and recruitment

  • Review rosters of visitors and past members and invite them to your next meeting

  • Advertise the local declines for Voter Registration and change of Party Notification via email or use Face Book, Instagram and Twitter

  • Promote Early voting, the need for poll workers and waters, sign waving opportunities and sample ballot selections

           * Offer to share a ride to the polls with some older or disabled members

           * Oct 5, 2022 is Yom Kippur

           * Oct 10th is Columbus Day

     * Oct 31 is Halloween—how about having orange cards at the table and write down the

scariest things that would happen if the Dems were to win various elections. Hang them on a tree

made of dead branches. Eating candy and slamming the Dems—What fun!!!

Hope to see you in the field working hard this month. As Republican Women we make it happen!! Don’t let your club be the best kept secret in town! Riding the Red Wave into November!

Calling All Members

PLEASE REPORT VOLUNTEER POLITICAL & CAMPAIGN HOURS!

All Members please keep track of your Political and Campaign hours.

Report it to your Club President or Club Campaign Chair.

Many more hours are included for volunteering, making phone calls; and for working on campaigns. All the time we spend planning and attending meetings; Lincoln Reagan Dinners are all to be included. This is an inclusive list of volunteer hours not exclusionary as in the past. Associate men hours for campaigning; members campaign hours and so much more all count toward your club hours. This is a great opportunity for clubs to get involved and to get credit for all the hard work the club members do throughout the year in other Republican clubs from the RNC to the REC's to your local clubs.

Third Report is:

July 1, 2022 to December 2022 (Due January 15, 2023)

Unnatural Consequences

Our American Social Contract in Crisis

By: Cory Mills

Republican Candidate for

Florida’s 7th U.S. Congressional District

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness: Three inalienable rights identified by our founding fathers in their July 4, 1776, Declaration of Independence.

The preamble to our Declaration of Independence acknowledges the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God, and concludes, “with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

Since the Age of Enlightenment, English philosophers like Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Edmund Burke, spoke about these natural endowed by our creator. They also spoke of a social contract, where some of these natural rights would be surrendered to authority in the interest of social order. This order, often arbitrary and potentially tyrannical, was thought to be the only rational alternative to the anarchy of a pure state of nature.

Of course, the English philosophers who studied past political societies, as well as our American founding fathers, were leery about ceding all their natural rights to an authority or government. Although in favor of the social contract, Locke for example, believed that natural rights were inalienable, and therefore the rule of God superseded government authority.

Locke and other social contract theorists remained steadfast in their beliefs that when government fails properly to mandate their natural rights to satisfy the best interests of society, citizens can withdraw their obligation to obey or change the leadership through elections or other means including, when necessary, violence, thus preserving man’s ability to regain his natural rights.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because this idea of the social contract was one of the guiding principles of our founding fathers as they were educated men and students of English political philosophy. After seeing firsthand the tyranny of a monarchy, they carefully applied certain aspects of the social contract in the United States Declaration of Independence, emphasizing the existence of natural rights, God given rights which superseded any government and served as the spirit of America’s revolution.

When it was time for young America to have its own Constitution, our founders ensured that our natural rights would be preserved, and government powers would be limited. The resulting document was so perfectly written that it has survived hundreds of years. In fact, these United States are governed by one of the oldest constitutions still existing in the entire world.

Some however, see the constitution as a barrier to their idea of social order. These opponents of our U.S. Constitution seek its destruction to allow for a new type of social contract. One inspired by utilitarianism, Hegelianism and Marxism, where socialist priorities outweigh the natural rights endowed by our creator.

Everything happening today, from wokeness, economic policies and even riots is all part of their plan to destroy the constitution in order to usher in an era of despotism that our founding fathers sought to protect us from. Politicians and others inspired by Marxist ideologies have been developing this plan for almost a century. While Americans have been distracted by endless wars, increasing demands for professional productivity, the destruction of the family unit, left leaning news conglomerates, and other emerging social media technologies, Marxism inspired activists have infiltrated our universities, educational institutions, and even our own government.

Our youth is being reprogrammed at every level to see our nation differently. It’s like woke artificial intelligence with secondary programming to not disobey their programmers. They are told that our founders were racist and morally flawed. They are taught about injustices at the hands of early American settlers and told that everything they once believed is not true, even things as fundamental as gender. Sexuality is being exploited, youth is being stolen by sexualization of children, and wedges are being driven between communities and their God. They won’t stop until they force the American people to reject their constitution, forfeiting the protections from the government along with it. A government they seek to fully control. Awake yet?

It seems we’re told that every election is the most important election of our lives. Considering how close the currently Democrat-led Executive and Legislative branches of our federal government are to breaching our sacred social contract, the upcoming election really might be the most important election in our lives.

America must reject the Marxist inspired ideology of todays Democrat Party. We must keep working together to elect Republicans who value and understand the natural law foundation of our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

The unnatural consequences of in inaction at a time like this is simply too great ignore.

Saved By the Constitution!!

Recently, it was reported that a past president’s home was raided by the FBI late at night, taking so called classified documents, cracking his safe, and going through his wife’s wardrobe, when the President has the right to declassify such documents. This makes us wonder, in addition to other FBI shenanigans, whether or not we are still living in a free society. Is the FBI politicized?

Considering Hunter Biden’s laptop and Hillary Clinton’s emails that were NOT declassified, which she did not have the right to do so, and were found in her personal email; why was she afforded an appointment with the FBI?

We have been given a gift. The gift, created and signed September 17th, 1787, presented September 28, 1787, and ratified June 21, 1788, a year before George Washington was sworn in as our first President, is our US Constitution. What finally made it pass by being signed by 38 out of 41 delegates was the Bill of Rights. Both the 5th and 14th amendments, taken together, address the right to due process and equal protection under the law. The fourth amendment addresses unreasonable search and seizure.  Were former President Donald Trump’s Constitutional rights respected? Have the Political Prisoners from January 6th been afforded a “speedy trial”?

Time will tell, but I am thankful that we have a US Supreme Court with the majority of its Justices believing in “Originalism”, NOT a “Living Constitution”.
