Principal's Message Dec. 6, 2019
Parents,
As the semester comes to a close later this month, it is important to have a conversation with your child regarding final exams and finishing strong. High school credits are awarded each semester and are calculated by combining the first quarter grade (40%), second quarter grade (40%), and the final exam (20%). With that said, there is a lot riding on the last few weeks of each semester. Students still have time to get caught up in classes, attend Reteach sessions, and work with their teachers to prepare for their final exams. Students who make a strong push in the final few weeks of the semester can see significant improvement in their grades and their overall GPA. Our teachers are available each day after school for PowerHour from 2:30-3:30, except early release Wednesdays. Most teachers are also available at lunch to offer tutoring and support. Mr. Henslin is available for students who need a more serious intervention through his offering of Catch Up Room sessions. The Catch Up Room gives students the opportunity to carve out some time in their day to just get caught up and relieve some stress about missing work. With all these interventions available, please share with your child the importance of taking advantage of these opportunities, and to finish strong this semester. Below is our final exam schedule, please call us if you have any questions at (480) 664-5511.
