Home of the Falcons!
"We Engage, Challenge, and Support Every Student, Every Day"
Principal's Message                                                           Feb. 8, 2019

We had an amazing Hoopcoming week filled with school spirit and Falcon pride! The week featured class color boys' volleyball, a bonfire, an assembly, sporting events, and a formal dance. The kids had a great time and the whole week was full of a positivity. I want to thank STUGO for putting on the events and making them memorable.

We also had our 8th graders visit the campus last week for a tour, an assembly, and lots of information regarding high school. I am so proud of our high school students for their warm welcome of our future Falcons. The 8th graders officially received their class color from the senior class, orange. We are excited for them as they move up to high school in August.

Girls soccer will be playing in the state quarterfinals this Saturday at 2:00 pm at Gilbert Christian High School. Leyton Kauffman will be wrestling in the state tournament this weekend in Prescott, AZ. We are very proud of these athletes as they approach the state tournament. Boys and girls basketball finish their regular season schedules this week and will learn their seeding for the state playoffs over the weekend.

Great Fair

"Please come visit the Life Skills Program at the Great Fair February 22nd and 23rd. Their booth will be located in the parking lot on the Avenue across from Chase Bank. The students will be selling their tie dye creations. See you there!"

STUGO

On January 24th - January 26th a group of 10 students went to Prescott for the StuGo State Conference. Dani Meyers writes, "I met so many new people, got closer with people I already knew, and listened to so many motivational speakers that really changed my perspective and how I look at things."

The speakers were very motivational and the students learned a lot from them.

8th Grade Visit

Last week, about 25 FHHS junior and senior students traveled to the middle school to meet with the 8th graders. In small groups, they discussed all of the important information about transitioning to high school. The 8th graders really loved hearing the "student" perspective and feel much more prepared to be FHHS Falcons next year!

2019 Academic Decathlon

Our winning team this year consisted of  Paige Despain, Kendra Ludwig, Austin Johnson, Ian Malcolm and Blake Anderson.  They competed in the two -day competition on the 1st and 2nd of February at Red Mountain High School in Mesa. There were 17 teams representing some of the largest schools in Arizona.

This year's theme was the 70's involving the Vietnam war, Nixon and other memorable events. Teams compete in ten areas including speech, interview, super quiz, math, English, literature, science etc.  Our team won several medals for their efforts.  We are very proud of their efforts.

Wrestling Team

Each year the wrestling team takes a break from the mat and cleans up the campus and parking lot. These guys take pride in their school and want it looking great.

School Store
The FHHS school store has a great variety of Falcon wear for anyone to purchase. They have Falcon lanyards, t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Parents and friends are welcome to stop in and purchase items as well to show their Falcon Pride!!
