"We Engage, Challenge, and Support Every Student, Every Day"
Principal's Message                                                           Nov. 2, 2018

According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration, vaping and the use of e-cigarettes is a national epidemic among teenagers. Schools across the nation are struggling to deal with this epidemic. Take a moment to read the East Valley Tribune article attached regarding the rise of vaping in Arizona schools. Although we have not seen the impact as other schools in Arizona, we have certainly seen an increase in these devices over the past few years. What becomes a challenge for school administrators is the identification of what the item is actually delivering; marijuana or tobacco/nicotine. The juice that it contains cannot be easily identifiable, and many times the device itself looks like a USB drive. Since many of these devices have the ability to deliver marijuana, they fall under our policy as either a look-alike or drug paraphernalia. We are committed to working with parents regarding these situations as they occur, but prevention is key. Please take time to read the article below and have a conversation with your child about the dangers of vaping and the effect it can have at school.

Fountain Hills High School in partnership with the Fountain Hills Coalition will offer students an opportunity to learn more about prevention of this epidemic on November 6th at lunch in the lecture hall. Parents are invited to see the same presentation at Fountain Hills Middle School later that night at 6:00 pm. Please refer to the flyer attached below, or call Fountain Hills Middle School for more information.

We would like to thank the PTO for providing lunch and cake for our staff as we celebrated our "A" letter grade. We are so proud of our students and staff on this great accomplishment.

Make A Difference Day 2018

On Saturday, the Falcon Leadership Club, Key Club, and the FHHS Football team came together to "Make a Difference" in the Fountain Hills community. The FHHS students worked hard to clean all of the lights around Fountain Park and do some landscaping! The next time you are taking a walk around the fountain, take note of how bright, shiny and clean the lights are that light up your path.

Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge Champions

Congrats to our amazing students, Randy Bragg, and Kate Pruett on their performance this year in the stock challenge. FHHS for the first time in school history won the JA Stock Challenge against several Arizona high schools. The kids were so happy and proud of their achievement. Great job Falcons!!!
