The Cape Cod Foundation selects Friends of Herring River for $25,000 Targeted Capacity Building Grant

These funds are for FHR, not restoration project services and management, and will be strategically used to help us make operational improvements and advance our mission. We'll also join a cohort of other Cape nonprofit grant recipients to foster collaboration and help support the sector. It is an exciting time at FHR and we are truly grateful for broad community support and these needed resources. Thank you, The Cape Cod Foundation!

Herring River Restoration Project received $899,200 through MA Department of Fish and Game's Division of Ecological Restoration (DER)'s Priority Projects Program

Friends of Herring River (FHR) attended DER's awards ceremony last week as part of the Healey-Driscoll Administration Awards $3.7 Million to Support Ecological Restoration Projects (press release) for river and wetlands.

FHR is the recipient of this award, as funding for Herring River Restoration Project non-construction activities, which FHR has managed annually for about a decade. About the Herring River Restoration Project and award, DER writes as "the largest tidal estuary restoration ever undertaken in Massachusetts and the North Atlantic coastal region and will restore approximately 890 acres of degraded salt marsh and estuarine habitats once completed. This award supports administrative, technical, regulatory compliance, outreach/communications, monitoring, and project coordination tasks as construction proceeds."  Thank you, DER!
