| March Ed Fund Allocations |
 Have you heard about the Ed Fund's most recent allocations?
Each month, the Ed Fund's Allocations Committee meets with students and faculty to review and discuss funding requests.
If you are a donor to the Ed Fund/ PTO, you are welcome to attend Ed Fund allocations meetings! The next allocation meeting will be held on Wednesday, 4/14 at 3:30 via Zoom. Contact the Ed Fund's Allocation Chair, Tracy Reith, to attend virtually.
Here is how your Ed Fund donations were spent in March!
March Allocations:

VPA/ Instrumental Music for $3,674.42
Tim Thomas requested funds to purchase new musical instruments for Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble. Funds would also be used to refurbish existing instruments. Students will be able to have instruments available to them if a student is in need.

World Language for $2,345.82
Samantha Stein requested funds to purchase headsets for the World Language classrooms. The headsets will facilitate speaking practice and assessments in class. Students will be able to practice their presentational and interpersonal speaking skills in a low-stress environment and teachers will be able to provide valuable feedback in a more timely and efficient manner. Students at all levels of French, Latin and Spanish will also be more prepared for the AP and IB exams which contain speaking components. This was a previous request that was accidentally closed out and was reapproved.

Social Studies not to exceed $2,200
Alexandra Miller requested funds to purchase entrepreneurship and finance titles to add to her classroom library. Economics students will have the opportunity to read a wide range of books covering various topics including personal finance, time management, common sense economics, entrepreneurship, motivation and much more. The recommended titles encourage students to understand that learning isn't limited to the classroom and that it comes in forms other than lectures, textbooks and YouTube videos. The books help demystify investing, finance, and the concrete actions that actors in market economics can make to grow their wealth and secure more free time in their lives. This was a previous request that was closed out and was reapproved.

Special Education for $970.00
Alex Sanchez and Dina Cassidy requested funds to purchase KTEA -3 testing kits to be used for student assessments in the Special Education department. The district provided 4 kits. These additional kits will allow more testing flexibility for staff and students.

Administration/Athletics not to exceed $40,000
Brett D'Errico asked for funds to be used for renovation and re-branding of the gym and foyer. The foyer will be remodeled and graphics will be added to the gym and foyer. In addition, bumper pads will be added in the gym to ensure the students safety while participating in athletics. This project will revitalize a tired area on campus while promoting school pride and spirit. The cost of the entire project is estimated at $58,000. FHS administration will provide $18,000 and the Ed Fund will pay $40,000 for the remainder of the total.

Administration- Senior Class $3,500
Michelle England requested funds to help with Pick up/Drop off Day for the senior class. Plans are to take the students through a "Foothill Journey" and give families extended time to take family photos in cap and gown while seeing friends one of the final times before graduation.
