FHSD outperforms many area school districts
In December, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released the results of the 2020-2021 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP), and the Francis Howell School District has much to celebrate. While school districts across the state saw a decrease in performance during the pandemic, FHSD students scored higher in many areas than other top-performing school districts in St. Louis and St. Charles counties.

The number of positive COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly in our region. As always, our goal here at FHSD is to protect the health of students, staff members and the community while continuing to provide a great education.
While we adjust to the evolving situation, please know that we have several updated documents on our website including an FAQ page that addresses positive cases, masking and exposures. Bookmark this page to view the latest guidance. Thank you for your grace, your flexibility and continued understanding.

Typically the majority of snow in our area falls during January and February. This year, the first three snow days will be made up at the end of the year. Snow days 4, 5 and 6 will be forgiven. Snow days 7-10 (if used) will be made up. The last possible day of school (assuming 10 snow days) is June 8, 2022.

Temperatures are dropping!
|
During the winter months, students should come to school with mittens, hats and warm coats. The decision to hold outdoor recess is based on weather-related factors. The District follows these cold-weather guidelines:
-
If the temperature or wind chill is under 15 degrees, all activities must be held indoors.
-
If the temperature or wind chill is 15-20 degrees, outdoor activity is limited to 10 minutes.
-
If the temperature is 20 -32 degrees, outdoor activity is limited to 20 minutes.
-
If the temperature is above 32 degrees, activities can be held without restrictions.
