ASOC Friendship Club Autism Social - for teens and young adults within the autism spectrum, including Down Syndrome and Pervasive Development Disorders to get together and have fun.
We have video games, pingpong, basketball, floor hockey and a DJ who plays the latest hits. The Friendship Club is run by volunteers and all are welcome.  Siblings should be 13 years and older.  For cost and additional information:  www.autismsocial.weebly.com

OUCARES After Hours Adult Social - a support group for adults, ages,18 years and older with Asperger's, high-functioning autism or PDD/NOS.

Aspie Women Talk Life Learn and Laugh - 
for wormen 18+ with Asperger's or high-functioning autism with conversational language skills. Social group  led by Tracey Cohen, self-described "Aspie" author of "Six Word Lessons on Female Asperger Syndrome." Discussions on relevant women's topics including finding/keeping relationships, employment challenges, daily sensory issues, independence and embracing Aspie life.

We are offering two final GMOA Overview presentations during the month of October at our Troy office. Please consider attending.
After October 31, the GMOA guide will remain available as a resource for purchase through our website. GMOA archived newsletters, related articles and resources will also remain available.

Taking part in a GMOA Overview Presentation is the best place to start learning and thinking about interdependent housing for adults with disabilities - especially those who may need supports. It provides an introduction to the housing planning process for people with disabilities including:
  • Making housing goals using the Person-Centered Planning process and Self-Determination principles;
  • Creating a housing budget, including private and public funding sources;
  • Deciding the appropriate level of direct care and other supports;
  • Options for affordable housing through renting or buying; and
  • Finding a roommate to share housing costs and companionship.
