| | Babylon Burning Screen Printing |
Congratulations Babylon Burning, on celebrating their anniversay last Friday, the 13th!
Babylon Burning Screen Printing has long been a cornerstone of San Francisco’s creative community, a resilient, independent shop that has helped define the city’s DIY spirit for nearly five decades. Since 1976, the shop has specialized in custom screen printing, producing everything from t-shirts and hoodies to tote bags, jerseys, and trucker hats, all while championing a “Print Local” ethos.
Now recognized as a San Francisco Legacy Business, Babylon Burning has weathered the city’s many waves of change. From rent hikes and the Loma Prieta earthquake to the dot-com boom, the economic recession, and the pandemic, the shop has continued to adapt and endure. In 2022, a devastating fire forced them out of their longtime Bluxome Street home, but true to form, they rebuilt and found a new chapter on Howard Street in SOMA.
Today, their new space stands as both a continuation of their legacy and a testament to their grit. Celebrating their 50th year, Babylon Burning recently brought together old friends and new for a lively, all-day anniversary party, proof that their community remains as strong as ever.
More than just a print shop, Babylon Burning is a cultural staple, an enduring symbol of San Francisco’s independent spirit, artistic roots, and commitment to keeping local craft alive.
For screen printing, Babylon Burning is second to none!
