Shooters...
Well I have to say it, another great State Championship at Scarborough Fish & Game. If we take a minute to remember, one year ago we had pandemic going on with businesses being closed, borders shut down, over reaching government out of control...I'll stop there, but you get the picture. So, having everyone back, in person, made this year's shoot even better. We had driven targets, trampolines, and several of our new Whiffle traps to provide every shooter with some fun and challenging targets.
WEEKLY PUBLIC SPORTING CLAYS
The Main Event, Pelletier Memorial and Super Sporting 100 targets will still be up for this Wednesday and Sunday to come and try again. So take Wednesday off and come see Jim (Maine's newest Master class shooter - Jim punched up by winning 10 punches!) and see if you can hit the ones you missed.
Also, thanks to our friends at Addieville we have a small supply of 12 gauge ammo available. So if you want to come shoot and are out of ammo you can now buy it (only what you are going to use that day) at the registration counter.
SCORES
Our new event this season was the 100 target 20 gauge event. This is just a lot of fun to shoot and with the 12ga ammo shortage, this is growing in popularity. So for those of you that don’t have one, now might be the time to invest in a good 20 gauge gun. Bo Stevens won with a 94. He was followed closely by Sam Foulds with a 93. Congratulations to both.
Every year we remember and celebrate the life of our original member, our founder, and our friend, George Pelletier, with the George Pelletier Memorial shoot. Without George, none of this would be possible today. We had a tie between Michael Keene, and Gordon Brooks, both with 98. Michael won after tie breaker with Gordon taking second place. Congratulations to both, that is an amazing score on that course.
The 100 target Super Sporting course was fun and more shooter friendly. We had a three way tie between Bud Santo, Frank DeLuca, and Brad Newell, all with 96. Bud took the top spot after tie breaker. Congratulations to all three.
The sub gauges were very popular again and very well attended. It was a challenging course with a couple of combinations that were fast and the famous trampoline was back. We even snuck in a Whiffle trap.

THANK YOU
We need to thank Greg and Sharon Berry for providing lunch each day and to Leisha Nadeau for her help, as well. It was great to have them back, they do a great job! Thanks to Lisa, Cathy, and Bill for handling registration and scoring for all those shooters. Thanks to our guest target setter and designer, Bernie Raimo. Thanks to John Wilson for coordinating and managing all the referees. Thanks to all the people that volunteered to be referees. Thanks to Randy and Leisha Nadeau for spending the week with us to help make the shoot run so smooth. Thanks to Jim Clemons who worked almost full time for a month to get the course ready. Thanks to our sporting clays committee. There were way too many members to get all the names in, that helped to put this shoot on. There was soooo much work to be done and this group came together and just made it happen. We have the best sporting committee anywhere. Most of all, thanks to all of you shooters that came out to support us. Without your continued support, none of this is possible.
Well, that is a wrap on our favorite event of the year. Hope to see you in July!
