SCARBOROUGH FISH & GAME SPORTING CLAYS
FROZEN FIVE #2 and 2.5

Shooters...
Well that was an awesome way to wrap up the 2021 season at Scarborough Fish & Game. Its been a great year of sporting clays. We saw COVID restrictions eased and many of our friends return. We introduced the new Whiffle (up side down targets) traps, and we are proud to say we are still the only club in the country to have them. We had the first New England All-Star Shoot Off. And, once again, we expect to be in the top ten clubs in the country for number of registered targets thrown.

NEWS
The weather looks ok going forward, so we are going to keep the sporting clays course (main event targets) open this week and we will see how the weather looks after that. Our plan is to go until the first major snow storm. So we will be open this Wednesday from 9am to 4pm (weather permitting) and next Sunday from 10am to 2pm. We will post on our web page when we close the sporting clays trail and open 5-stand.

RESULTS
It was cold, but we had fires and warming huts to take the chill off. Thankfully, there was little wind on Saturday and only slightly windier on Sunday. We had some fun and interesting targets in both events. The main event, the Frozen Five #2 was very shooter friendly with a lot of high scores. We had a tie between Kevin Kennedy and Earle Glidden both with 96. Kevin won by tiebreaker. Congratulations to both. In the 2.5, the pairs were a little more technical, but still shooter friendly. Chuck DeVinne took HOA with a 96 and Kevin Kennedy continued his good weekend by shooting a 94 for runner up. Great shooting and congratulations to both. Also, special shoutout to Main event Lady Champion - Pam Rich, shooting a 91 in B Class...no one works harder at their game and it was fun to see her shoot her personal best in the last shoot of the year - congrats Pam!

THANK YOU
We really want to thank all of our people that help all year to make our shoots run so well. Thanks to Lisa and Bill who run registration every shoot. They do a great job every time getting everyone out on the course and doing all the scoring. Thanks to Greg and Sharon Berry for preparing lunch all year...they did a great job under some tough conditions. Special thanks to Jim Clemons. Jim is at the club almost every day doing anything that needs to be done to keep improving the course. He could be filling traps one day and running a loader the next. Special thanks to Steve and Pam Rich. They do so much work throughout the year to help keep things running and growing.
We want to thank Bill Scarborough. You may have noticed how our grounds kept improving this year. Bill volunteered to take on the mowing and up keep of the trail, and he went above and beyond. He was there every week mowing, trimming, and cleaning the grounds and it showed. We received many comments on how great everything looked all year. We want to thank all of our committee that help run both the events and the weekly sporting clays. We have some of the best people in the sport. Most of all, we want to thank you, the shooters. You come out in the cold, the heat, the rain, to constantly support our club. We couldn’t do any of this without you.

It wouldn’t be a complete season without remembering our founder, our leader, and our friend, George Pelletier. George left us in 2013, so many of you newer shooters didn’t get to meet him. In 2004, George took a group of friends, and a hand full of traps, and started a 5 stand. His passion and leadership set us on the path to where we are today. It is safe to say that without George, none of this would have been possible.

Thank you for another great year and as always, you have our promise that we will never stop trying to make it better.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, see you in 2022!
