Shooters...
This may have been our best old Zone One Championship yet. The weather was perfect, the targets were just right for a Championship, we had Greg and Sharron back with great food and we had the inaugural New England All Star Shoot-Off. I'm not sure we can make it any better...but we will try.

First the news, As always the Main event and the Partridge Tune Up targets, along with the All Star Shoot-Off targets will be open this Wednesday from 10am - 5pm and Sunday from 10am - 2pm. Come on back and try them all again or take your own try at the shoot-off targets. Also, we do have ammo available if you don’t have any.

ALL STAR SHOOT-OFF
The All Star Shoot-Off was a huge success. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We never anticipated so much audience participation with bidding and cheering. Special thanks to our MC, Jacob Williams, who did an outstanding job. He went above and beyond to make it a real show. We want to thank all the participants who were brave enough to go up in front of all those people and give it a shot...you should all be proud. It was very close and really exciting to watch. We want to congratulate John Carbone for winning the men's division by shooting ten out of twelve. John made those tough targets look easy and walked away with $1,375 in prize and Calcutta money. John was bought in the Calcutta by Lisa Glidden for $150 and Lisa won $875 for her bid. Next up came the women, and you could tell the women were especially nervous. It got really exciting when Christine Nagy and Kim Noyes tied with five each and had to go to a second shoot-off. Kim won by hitting three out of six and took home $1,060. She was bought in the Calcutta by Sanford Whitehouse for $500 and Sanford won $560 for his bid. Thank you to everyone that bid, watched and cheered for the participants, and thank you to everyone that helped organize and run the event. The good news is we're already hearing buzz about next year's Shoot-Off - and, you know, Earle will want to make it bigger and better.

The 20 gauge 100 target event is gaining popularity. Congratulations to Earle Glidden for HOA with a 93. Frank DeLuca tied with a 93 but was Runner Up after tie breaks...congratulations to both. Earle also took HOA in the 100 target Super Sporting with a 96. Ethan Hess was Runner up with a 95...congratulations to both. The Partridge Tune Up was very shooter friendly. We had a three way tie between Michael Keene, John Carbone, and Dan Linker, all with 98. Michael won by tie breaker. Congrats to all three on the great shooting.

THANK YOU
And finally, the important part, Thank You. Thank you to Greg and Sharon Berry and Leisha Nadeau for preparing and serving all that great food. Thank you to Lisa and Bill for registration and scoring all those events...everyone is loving having the scores up so quickly on ScoreChaser.com. Thank you to all of our volunteers that put in weeks of work to get this shoot ready and run so smooth, Jim, Steve, Pam, Tom, Ron, and Neal. I'm sure I have missed some people. Thanks to guest target setter Bernie Raimo.

Well that is it, another Old Zone Championship is done. Don't forget to come out and try the targets again on Wednesday and Sunday and see if you can't figure out some of the ones you missed. And take a shot at the Shoot-off targets to see how you might have faired on those hard targets.

Until next time...see you on the range!
