FINCEN FEDERAL FILING FOR LLCs

PHP - Helping to Keep Your Business Up To Date

We're rapidly approaching the end of the year and one new process for you before 2025 is mandatory reporting of the ownership of small LLCs or corporations. This is intended to fight money laundering and is administered by the US Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Each person who owns 25% or more of your organization, or who exercises "substantial control" over it, must register by the end of the year.

We have put together a guide based on the filing experience of one of our members. You can find this under the "Resources" page of our website.

The filing process is not difficult, but it can take time to get all the documents together so make sure you get started in plenty of time.

If you've not had time to register, we'd like to invite you to join us on Friday December 13th in Altadena for a no-host lunch to meet your peers, get an update on current regulations and discuss the future multi-family rental industry in Pasadena. We have a real chance to implement a fair and reasonable ballot measure in 2026, but we need your help and ideas.
