The Office of Research spearheads the UC Nanobioscience Research Institute

The UC Office of Research is launching the first-of-its-kind Nanobioscience Research Institute (NBSRI) that’s advancing cutting-edge R&D in biomedical areas. The work of this dynamic group of prominent nanobioscientists is already having real-world health implications. The NBSRI will focus on key areas such as nanomaterials, biosensing, drug delivery, diagnostics, and the environmental impact of nanoscale technologies.

This powerhouse group of world-renowned experts from UC’s Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Arts & Sciences will co-locate in UC’s future interdisciplinary wet lab facility (for which planning is now underway) where side-by-side they’ll be training our nation’s future scientists, developing groundbreaking knowledge and technologies, and improving the quality of life for all.
