FINISHING OUT THE SUMMER STRONG!

IN CUBA:

 

30 students professed faith in Jesus as their Savior last week at Los Pines Camp, outside of Santa Clara, Cuba. Many others committed themselves to live a morally pure life. As a part of that commitment, those students made the decision to not only save sex for marriage but to also not allow sexual sins to gain a foothold in their lives. They also connected themselves to accountability partners who will help them along that journey.


Our U.S. team helped support the camp through prayer, supplies (held in two 50-pound suitcases full of basic necessities, medications, and camp supplies taken by each of our team members totaling 1,500 pounds!), providing “behind the scenes” support each day, and by relationally connecting to the students and adult counselors who attended the camp.





Pray for the students who attended this camp and for the leaders who will begin discipling each one who decided to follow Jesus last week. Pray that these students make wise sexual/moral decisions as they navigate an increasingly more open technological and social media landscape in their culture through phone and internet access.


It was also a real joy to have my oldest son, Silas, on the trip with me. It was his first time to Cuba, as well as seven of the other members of our 15-person team!

IN NIGER:

 

Reach Out has only been in Niger for a couple of years, but the results are truly God-sized. Not only is God using our Nigerien leadership to reach neighboring countries like Togo, but we also certified five new Eagle Leaders (leaders of leaders) this month! Pray for these new leaders as they begin to train and mentor other church/youth leaders in this country.

IN RUSSIA:

 

Pasha Koryakin was able to train youth ministry leaders of the Russian Church in JFYM during an event connected to the annual PASSWORD conference in St. Petersburg, Russia.




Pasha, “Once again, I am convinced of the universal and strategic nature of these principles that Christ showed us in His earthly ministry!”





Pray for these Russian youth pastors who have been introduced to Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry. Pray that they continue working through the action plans they have created as they follow God in reaching the next generation for Christ in Russia.



IN DRC:

 

These 45 students came together from a variety of churches and denominations to work through the Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry curriculum in DRC. At the conclusion of the event, they committed themselves to reach their siblings and peers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The two leaders of the training were fruit of Country Leader Mwema Bertin's mentorship who have been trained and mentored under his wing, as he stood back and watched God help them to lead the training. Pray for these students as they courageously step into gospel conversations with their family members and friends.



IN KENYA:


This young adult (Stephen) was distraught over the reality that he was threatened by an angry mob. The end result…Ezra Daniel, a local youth pastor trained in Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry was able to minister to him. Stephen accepted Jesus as his Savior, and he is now being discipled as he begins his new life in Christ! Many young adults are currently accepting Jesus Christ in this area of Kenya near Lake Victoria! Keep praying for Pastor Ezra and his team as they reach these students with the gospel. 

Thank you for supporting Reach Out Youth Solutions through your prayers and financial partnerships. As we close out the summer months, we invite you to begin praying now as our JFYM trained youth leaders around the world shift their focus to school ministry (evangelistic clubs and events, ministry to teachers and coaches, parenting resources, etc.). 


Additionally, we will continue training and resourcing youth leaders, pastors, and parents through JFYM Forums and JFYM Implementation Workshops. We covet your prayers for our leaders as they begin to finalize those plans, and for those who will be in attendance. 


And finally, we invite you to pray for our team at the global office as we place an increasing amount of attention on raising funds for 2025. We are believing God will do “immeasurably more” than what we could plan or dream!
