Exciting times!

Some of the exec board members attended the FJMC Leadership Development Institute this month. Baruch, Jeff and I met the other region presidents and officers and attended several discussions.  We’ll send a brief on that under separate cover. 

One thing we discussed was the upcoming convention. It is held every 2 years in different cities. This year it will be in Chicago. We need to see all the clubs represented and there will be a subsidy for attendance.

We now have an official Yarmulke and are making other merchandise for our region. The Yarmulkes are available for order. The link is attached below. Buy them and wear them proudly.

The exec board met Tuesday night and agreed on our main goals in 2025.  They are:

1.     Engage the clubs to grow collaboration and cooperation as a region

2.     Grow the region adding new clubs

3.     Helping the clubs achieve your goals

4.     Strengthening the regional board

5.     Creating a quality region

We will need everyone’s help to achieve these goals.  Please do engage before you are asked.  

FJMC as a national organization is nothing.  It is the regions and the clubs that comprise them; that is the magic.  The ability to collaborate, to form a community of Jewish men who value that fellowship.  Working together, we can help strengthen your clubs, thereby strengthening the region!

To ensure the Texas Region is maintaining consistent communication and accurate information, we are requesting the Presidents to confirm the information listed above and provide a similar list of their Men’s Club/Brotherhood Board Officers. 

We understand there is a very rich and proud history amongst all our Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods, and many activities planned for 2025. Please provide a brief paragraph of your Men’s Clubs/Brotherhoods history, and a list of your upcoming Men’s Clubs/Brotherhoods events. Hint, if it is easier to provide a link to your events list, please share! 

Our goal is to receive all the above requested information by March 6^th, in preparation for the March 16^th Newsletter.

Texas Region – Yarmulkes – BIG NEWS!

Through the incredible efforts of David Freiman, FJMC Abayudaya Liaison, Texas Region has a Yarmulke

For a decade, FJMC clubs and regions have purchased handmade kippot from the Abayudaya Men’s Club (AMC). Through kippot sales, the AMC provides much needed jobs to members of the community and funds men’s club activities. By wearing these kippot, we affirm the FJMC connection to the Jews of Uganda and to supporting the AMC and its members as they manage through crippling poverty in the Mbale region. The cost of the Yarmulke is $18.

Thank you for purchasing your regional kippot through the Abayudaya. The men in Uganda are ready to fill any future orders, even larger orders for B’nai Mitzvot or for your synagogue membership.
