Dear FJUHSD Staff, Students, and Community,
As we welcome the month of April, we are proud to highlight this month’s theme: Inspired by Community. This theme reflects the strength, connection, and shared commitment that make our District such a special place to learn and grow.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our families, staff, and community partners for your continued support of our schools. Your partnership plays a vital role in the success of our students and programs. We are especially thankful for your support of Measure L, which allows us to continue improving our facilities and providing high-quality learning environments for all students.
We are also excited to celebrate two of our outstanding schools, Sunny Hills High School (SHHS) and Troy High School (TRHS), for being recognized as 2026 California Distinguished Schools. This prestigious honor reflects the dedication of our students, staff, and families. Congratulations to both school communities on this well-deserved recognition!
As we move further into the spring semester, we encourage all students to stay focused and prepared. The District’s CAASPP testing window will take place from March 30 through April 30. Please check with your school site for specific testing dates and be sure to review helpful tips included in this newsletter to support your success.
We invite you to read through this month’s newsletter for more information, highlights, and important upcoming dates. Thank you again for being an essential part of our FJUHSD community.
Warm Regards,
Steve McLaughlin, Ed.D.
Superintendent

We invite you to view the upcoming projects made possible through Measure L and see the impact your support will have across the District. We are inspired by the strength of our community and the shared commitment to improving our schools. These meaningful improvements will benefit our students, staff, families, and community for generations to come, with the first phase of construction set to begin in May 2026. We are truly grateful for your partnership in making these projects a reality.

Inspired by Community 🤝
At Fullerton Union High School, we are reminded that true strength comes from unity and the Kindness Matters Legacy Foundation is a powerful example of what happens when people come together with purpose and heart. Their unwavering commitment to uplifting students and supporting our school reflects the very best of what it means to serve others.
When a community comes together, something powerful happens, kindness grows, connections deepen, and lives are changed. It is through these shared efforts that we create a lasting impact and a legacy rooted in care and compassion.

New Beginnings!
This month, Ed Services is inspired by the strength and connection of our FJUHSD community as we welcome our newest members. Following January’s Open Enrollment, our school sites have begun the 2026–2027 registration process for incoming ninth-grade students and their families. Through events hosted across our campuses, families have been warmly welcomed and introduced to the staff, programs, and opportunities that define each school community. These experiences mark the beginning of important relationships that will support students throughout their high school journey. Our incoming students are already experiencing school culture and a strong sense of belonging, and we look forward to partnering with their families as they transition into FJUHSD, inspired by community.
