Dear FJUHSD Staff, Students, and Community,
Dear FJUHSD Community,
This month, we proudly celebrate our May theme: Engaging Minds. It reflects our shared commitment to sparking curiosity, deepening understanding, and inspiring every student to reach their full potential. As we close out the school year, this theme resonates more than ever across our classrooms, campuses, and communities.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation to two outstanding student leaders, Student Board Member Noelle Liydoff and SAC Vice Chair Oscar Deniz. Noelle and Oscar have exemplified leadership, compassion, and purpose throughout the year. Their thoughtful contributions have made a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for their service.
May is also a time to recognize and thank the incredible individuals who make FJUHSD such a special place. This month’s newsletter highlights the many Staff Appreciation Days across our schools. To every member of our team; teachers, classified staff, counselors, administrators, and support personnel, thank you for your dedication, your heart, and the difference you make every day.
Finally, we look ahead with excitement to one of the most memorable times of the year: graduation. This celebration marks a pivotal milestone in the lives of our students and families. Please be sure to review the graduation schedule and tips included in this newsletter to ensure a smooth and joyful experience for all.
Thank you for continuing to build a District rooted in excellence, engagement, and unity.
Warmly,
Steve McLaughlin, Ed.D.
Superintendent

Bus Driver Appreciation
This week, our Human Resources Administrators had the honor of attending a celebration dedicated to our incredible District team of school bus drivers, mechanics, and dispatchers. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in our District, often serving as the first and last points of contact for our students each day. Their commitment to driving early morning shifts and staying late into the evening reflects a deep sense of service to our school community. The event, organized by Director of Transportation, Carina Lazcano, featured a catered lunch, games, and prizes, creating a festive and grateful atmosphere. It was a true joy to celebrate the hardworking individuals who help ensure our student travel safely to and from school each day.
Thank you to all of our FJUHSD School Bus Drivers.
