Dear FJUHSD Staff, Students, and Community,

As we welcome November, our District theme, “Every Student, Every Day,” reminds us of our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for every student to learn, grow, and succeed. Through the dedication of our staff, families, and community, we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.

We are proud to share that FJUHSD, along with Fullerton Union, Sonora, Sunny Hills, and Troy High Schools, has been named to the 2026 Honor Roll by Educational Results Partnership, recognizing outstanding achievement in Mathematics and English Language Arts. Congratulations to our students, staff, and school communities on this incredible accomplishment!

As Thanksgiving approaches, I encourage everyone to spend quality time with family and friends, reflect on the many things we are grateful for, and enjoy a well-deserved break. Please review our Pupil Attendance Calendar for upcoming holidays and school breaks.

I also invite you to watch our video highlighting our Student Board Member Summit and ASB Symposium, showcasing the incredible leadership and collaboration of our students.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to inspire success for Every Student, Every Day! Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving!

Warm regards,

Steve McLaughlin, Ed.D.

Every Student, Every Voice 🎤

What happens when student leaders come together to connect, collaborate, and make their voices heard? Amazing things! 🙌

Our recent Student Board Member Summit and ASB Symposium showcased the power of student leadership and brought to life the theme championed by FJUHSD Student Board Member Cambria Dominguez and Student Advisory Council (SAC) Vice President Jayden Aguirre: “Every Student, Every Voice.”

Through engaging activities, meaningful discussions, and opportunities to build connections, both events empowered students to share their perspectives, learn from one another, and strengthen their leadership skills.

🎥 Take a look at the energy, excitement, and incredible student leadership that made these two events so special! Click on the image above to view the video.

Teen Mental Health in the Age of AI

The District will be hosting a Parent Education Workshop titled Teen Mental Health in the Age of AI on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sunny Hills High School Theater.

The workshop will provide parents and guardians with an overview of how artificial intelligence (AI) may impact adolescent mental health and well-being as it becomes an increasingly prominent part of students' everyday lives. The session is intended to increase awareness and understanding of the potential implications of AI use among teens. Families from across the District are invited to attend.

Human Resources

Building Connections, Growing Leaders, Supporting Every Student

Human Resources continues to strengthen connections across FJUHSD through school visits, staff outreach, and leadership development. From our third annual Coffee and Donuts initiative at Troy High School to our first HR caravan at Buena Park High School, the team has connected with employees, answered questions, and provided opportunities for feedback and support. Our Assistant Superintendent and Director of HR are also visiting school sites to connect with administrators, welcome new teachers in their classrooms, and learn more about the outstanding programs serving our students. In addition, HR launched its fourth year of the voluntary Certificated and Classified Leadership Academies, helping employees build leadership skills and prepare for future opportunities within the District. HR administrators are also attending after-school events to support students and celebrate their extracurricular involvement. Through these efforts, Human Resources remains committed to building relationships, fostering trust, and supporting our District community in the spirit of Every Student, Every Day!
