ASB students engaged in activities designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and leadership, which they will carry back to their campuses for the remainder of the school year. Be sure to check out the video of the SAC Symposium in our newsletter.
We are also proud to share that our Student Board Member OC Summit was recently featured in the OCDE Newsroom! Human Resources is Inspired by Staff
The Human Resources Department is continually inspired by our certificated and classified staff. Recently, our team visited Buena Park High School to learn more about the outstanding Agriculture program and tour the school’s farm. A highlight of the visit was meeting Ms. Paulina Cortez, who teaches Art and History of Floral Design, Advanced Floral Design, Soil Chemistry, and Sustainable Agriculture Biology. Her passion for teaching and commitment to strengthening the program to support student success were truly inspiring.
As World Teachers’ Day approaches on October 5th, we want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all teachers across the District. Thank you for your dedication, creativity, and tireless efforts on behalf of our students and community. You are an inspiration to us all, Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September marked Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and schools across the District came together to promote hope, connection, and help-seeking. Through a range of student-led and community-supported activities, the focus was on breaking stigma and ensuring all students know that support is always available.
Community Partnerships
The Orange County Health Care Agency provided stress-relief tools and informational resources, helping remind students that they are never alone.
Messages of Strength
In the “Help Our Tree Grow” activity, students wrote encouraging messages displayed on a “Tree of Hope,” symbolizing resilience and unity.
Lunchtime Learning
Lunch events combined food and mental health education covering signs of suicide, campus support options, and the importance of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Student Leadership
Student Advisory Councils led impactful efforts, including chalking positive messages on campus, distributing resources, and fostering peer support.
Campus-Wide Engagement
From affirmation signs and coping tools like slime to awareness bracelets and WellSpace reminders, campuses embraced mental wellness in creative, meaningful ways.
These District-wide efforts underscore the power of awareness, community, and student voice in suicide prevention. If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988—help is always available.
