FLAGGING OPERATIONS SCHEDULED ON I-64/264 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
Traffic affected in Norfolk and Virginia Beach
NORFOLK –  As construction continues on the I-64/264 Interchange Improvements project, lane closures with flagging operations are scheduled to begin on both phases of the project.

Motorists can expect to see flagging operations on Curlew Drive, Kempsville Road and Witchduck Road, beginning Monday, Aug. 26. Lane closures under flagger control allow crews to safely perform work without completely closing a road to traffic.

Curlew Drive
  • Aug. 26-30: Daytime flagging operations from the I-64 overpass to Kidd Boulevard for waterline installation.

Kempsville Road
  • Aug. 26-Sept. 11: Daytime flagging operations for paving, curb and sidewalk work.

Witchduck Road
  • Aug. 26 through late October: Nighttime flagging operations (between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.) at the I-264 interchange and Greenwich Road for waterline installation on northbound Witchduck Road.
