Pastor Glen's focus for his message for Christmas Eve:

 Now we come to the day that we have been waiting for. Now we arrive at Bethlehem to discover what it is like when God enters humanity in the baby Jesus. And there, among shepherds and Magi, we bow down in humble adoration of this tremendous miracle - God has changed humanity forever. "O Come Let Us Adore Him" we sing, caught in holy reverence too see our salvation. As God has chosen to join himself to our humanity, so now his glory and majesty are ours.

Mid Week Meal date changes for Christmas Eve

and New Year's Eve!

The Mid Week Meal will be changing days because of the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays. The Mid Week Meal will be on Tuesday, December 23rd instead of Wednesday, December 24th because of Christmas Eve. Also, the Mid Week Meal will be on Tuesday, December 30th instead of Wednesday, December 31st because of New Year's Eve. If you have any questions please contact the church office at (402) 426-4073.

Offering Envelopes

The 2026 Offering Envelopes are out for you to pick up. The Offering Envelopes are in alphabetical order in the Narthex. Please stop by and pick your envelopes up. If you have any questions please contact Dawn in the Church office

A Very Special Christmas Day Message

There will be a very special recorded Christmas Day Message that will be coming on Christmas morning!

The message will be available at 9:00am on Christmas Day, December 25th on Facebook, YouTube,

and our website.

Church Office Closed

The Church Office will be closed on Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th. The church office will also be closed on Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd. If you have any questions please contact the church office at (402) 426-4073.

End-of-the-Year

Contributions

In order for you to claim a deduction for contributions made to First Lutheran Church during 2025, the church office must receive your contribution by December 31, 2025. All contributions placed in the offering plates at any of the Christmas services will be recorded as 2025 contributions. If you are hand-delivering checks, please have them to the church office by Noon on Wednesday, December 31. All checks must be dated in 2025 and if mailed, must be postmarked no later than December 31. First Lutheran Church will be following these tax rules when posting receipts. 

New Christ in Our Homes

Christ in Our Homes-If you would like a Christ in Our Homes daily

devotional they are available at the Welcome Center in the

Narthex and also on the usher table outside of the LIFE Center for January, February, and March. The Christ in Our Homes is a book that has a daily

devotional to read and pray. Please stop by and pick one up if you would like or if you need one delivered please call the church office

at (402) 426-4073.

Social Concerns Committee:

Here at FLC, we have historically created a large display focusing on Alternative Gift Giving. This year we are “keeping it simple”. We encourage you to think about the opportunities that are close to your heart. We do have a couple of options here at church in December that you may wish to consider:

1. A Winterwear Ingathering (coats, hats, mittens, gloves, warm socks – new or gently used) will be collected and distributed where needed in the community.

2. We are joining in the Jeanette Hunt Blair Animal Shelter’s Christmas for Pets effort by offering the opportunity to contribute dog & cat supplies to support our furry friends.

3. Your support of the Washington County Food Pantry is ALWAYS welcome!

You will find information in the narthex to consider each of these alternative gifts! Maybe your grandson would be happy to know that you gave a bag of dog food to a special puppy at the shelter in his honor – something even better than another toy to add to his collection.

Remember this Christmas season -- your gifts of time, talents & treasures in support of others can become the “perfect gifts” in Jesus’s eyes!

Join us for the W.O.W. Meal in the Fellowship Hall from

5:30 pm – 6:15 pm prior to Worship Lab.

Come at 5:30 to fuel your body and then stay for Worship Lab at 6:15 to feed your soul.

Pastor Glen's Office Hours

Pastor Glen will be keeping walk-in office hours on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9am to 12 pm and on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. and is available by appointment anytime Monday through Thursday.

Reminder: If you are hospitalized or having a medical procedure it is important that you contact Pastor Glen directly because the hospitals will not call the church. You can text or call Pastor Glen at 402-740-6395 or

ATTENTION FLC MEMBERS!!

FLC is now using a new database called Realm. This database is used to organize our membership records. This system also tracks all our financial giving, enables us to do scheduling, and Realm collects all kinds of information to help us be a better church.

The really unique thing about Realm is that YOU, the congregation, can update, edit, and control all of your own data in the system. You can change your address, add an email preference, tell us where you'd like to be more involved at FLC, see your giving information, and so much more.

We hope to have all our FLC members update their profiles and begin interacting on Realm by the end of 2025.
