2026 Saved To Serve

Come and spend a fun and productive weekend in Fremont at Midland University! This year’s 2026 “Saved to Serve” retreat will be hosted by Midland University August 14-16th. Deadline to sign up is August 1st. Registration sheets will be on the welcome center or the women’s activities table.

Tangible items being collected will be donated to the Warrior Open Cupboard food pantry. They are hoping for food and hygiene items.

Garage Sale Report!!

The 2026 FLC Youth Garage Sale was nothing short of amazing. And that is because of so many people in our church AND in our community. I could not list each person because there are so many, and I don't want to leave one out.

Prayer Labyrinth Dedication

We will be having the Prayer Labyrinth Dedication on Thursday, July 23rd at 5:30pm. The Prayer Labyrinth was created by Charlie Gutzmann as an Eagle Scout Project. The project was funded by memorial money from Candy Suverkrubbe's family. Please join us to see this beautiful spiritual project.

CROP Walk

This year’s Crop Walk is scheduled for Saturday,

August 15^th beginning at 8am at Blair First United Methodist Church. Registration and donation

If you enjoy mixing up casseroles while socializing with others in the kitchen, please sign up to help us cook each Wednesday!

We assemble 18 large casseroles each Wednesday @ 1pm-3:30pm to serve 260 people.

Our cooks come in on a rotating basis, and we need some more to add to our group.

Social Concerns Committee:

First Lutheran Garden Market began the Weekend of June 27th and 28th. 

Home grown fruits, vegetables, flowers and baked goods are available to First Lutheran Church members starting the weekend of June 27th and 28th. These products will be available through the annual First Fruits/Garden Market. In this program local gardeners and bakers from First Lutheran are encouraged to provide the church with excess goods including garden and baked goods. These goods will then be made available to First Lutheran members prior to and following church services on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. The garden market will go throughout the summer and into the fall. Members are encouraged to give a free-will offering for the products taken. The collected funds will be donated to Lutheran World Relief. 

As in the past, a garden cart will be made available to both providers and buyers to showcase the products. This cart will be found in the church narthex. Gardeners and bakers are encouraged to bring their donations to the church on Saturday afternoon after 4:00 p.m. or prior to the church services at 8:15 or 10:15 a.m. on Sundays.  

Be sure to check out the products available on a weekly basis. We hope to see you at the market.

The last W.O.W. meal was on Wednesday, April 29th and will be discontinued until fall when LIFE Night starts back up in August.

Starting on Wednesday, May 6th you are welcome to order meals for delivery or pick up with MWM since the W.O.W. meal will be over for the summer. Please reach out to Erika and or the church office to place your order! W.O.W. meals will resume when the fall Wednesday services start

back up in August.

Women’s Bible Study

Ladies…now that the holidays are behind us, are you looking for something to keep the spirit of Christmas alive in your hearts and in your lives?  Come and join other ladies on Friday mornings as we begin a new study about women of the Bible entitled “Brave and Beloved” by Meredith Storrs. 

“Women of the Bible are just like us, but their particular lives, choices, and problems can sometimes feel foreign when we read them today.  Through their stories, we can glimpse a vision of what it means to be a godly woman, but sometimes their experiences leave us scratching our heads.  This Bible study looks specifically at key women in Scripture to discover how their stories upend cultural expectations and reveal the nature and character of the God who created us all.”
