In the next several months it is our goal to educate the congregation on the
activities of the Committees at First Lutheran. We will plan to highlight the
activities of one of these committees each month. In doing this we will plan two separate activities for each committee. These include:
1. A presentation by the committee chair person or representative of the
committee to the Church Council regarding the committee’s activities. This
would include the goals of the committee, who makes up the committee,
what some of the activities of committee are, and how the Church Council
could assist the committee in their work.
2. Following the presentation to the Council, a short summary of the
committee’s activities will be included in the weekly E-Blasts sent to the
congregation.
The goal of this summary again will be to highlight the activities of the committee and hopefully increase the interest in the committees by the congregation and possibly help In the recruitment of the members to the committees.
This month's report is from the Children's Ministry Committee. Please click button below to view the Children's Ministry
Committee Report.

Social Concerns Committee:
Our ELCA WORLD HUNGER emphasis at FLC will be on Saturday, November 11, Sunday, November 12, and Wednesday, November 15. Informational flyers and offering envelopes for your donations will be handed out to you when you come for worship services on those days. If it happens that you did not get a flyer/envelope at that time you may pick one up at the Welcome Center at your convenience. From the ongoing Russia-Ukraine and the
Israeli-Hammas/Gaza wars, the increasingly volatile weather, natural disasters, and the
ever-growing migration crisis, there are 821 million people suffering from chronic hunger! God is calling us to respond to the needs of the world now more than ever! Make your checks payable to First Lutheran Church with ELCA World Hunger on the memo line. You may drop your contributions in the offering plate or mail them to FLC or take them to the church office any time it is convenient for you to do so. For "Inasmuch as you have done it to the least of these who are members of my family you have done it onto me" (Mt. 25:40b).
Watch for the CHRISTMAS ALTERNATIVE GIFT EXHIBIT that will appear at the November 18 FLC Annual Craft Fair and throughout the Advent Season. It could solve your dilemma of what to buy for "the person who has everything" and help others in need--a win-win situation! Also Equal Exchange Fair Traded products--coffee, tea, chocolates, and nuts--will again be offered. These items can make great "stocking stuffers."
