FLC Treasurer's Financial Update:

Dear FLC Congregation,

We are so lucky to have you as a member of the FLC community. Thank you for your support and continued participation. We are happy to provide congregants like you with programs and events that lift us up and remind us of the importance of having a giving spirit.

To continue offering the services that we do, we are here to request an increase in giving throughout the remainder of 2022. Through September, FLC is behind our revenue budget by $15,794. Our 4th quarter budgeted revenue is $158,950 which means that in total we need to generate giving of approximately $175,000 prior to December 31. Please take a look at your current financial situation and see if there is a way you can help FLC meet its revenue budget. By doing so, this will allow for sufficient funds so FLC does not have to dip into reserve accounts to pay for general expenses.

Please visit the FLC website for the various ways in which you can donate:

 http://www.firstlutheranblair.org/giving/ [firstlutheranblair.org]

If you have any questions about how to donate, please feel free to contact the church office at 402-426-4073. You can also stop by the church’s main office in person or drop your donation in the collection plate during our next service.

On behalf of the church council, thank you again for being such an important part of the FLC community.

Sincerely,

Chad Leggott

FLC Treasurer

Synod Assembly

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! Is the theme for this year’s Nebraska Synod Assembly. It will be held June 2-4, 2022 in Kearney, Ne at the Younes Conference Center.

First Lutheran Church is looking for participants who would be interested in attending this years gathering! As an attendee you would become a voting member. There will be proposals to consider, amendments, and resolutions. They also adopt the Synod  budget and elect officers and committee members. It’s also a time for fellowship, learning, worship and meeting new people from across Nebraska!

Even though the meeting isn’t until June, we need to have a list of representatives for First Lutheran Church before the annual meeting in January. Please contact the church office at 402-426-4073, or Laurie Wick at wickette224@gmail.com or 402-533-0536

Choir News

Did you know...?

Singing in the choir does the spirit good. Singing just plain makes you feel better. Many of us don't sing enough. Singing in a choir gives you a full hour devoted to the feel-good act of singing.

The choir rehearses Thursdays at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to join even if you're not at rehearsal every week. If you would like more information or have questions, please feel free to contact Vince. Come, make a joyful noise!

Social Concerns:

There is still time to contribute to this worthy cause throughout the month of November. Gifts are especially needed due to the effects of COVID-19, the tragic war in Ukraine, drought, hurricanes, and fires! Our gifts to ELCA World Hunger are at work in the world and make a tremendous difference! We cling to the promise, "And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work (2 Cor. 9:8).

Our CHRISTMAS ALTERNATIVE GIFT EXHIBIT and our Equal Exchange Fair Traded products will again be offered at the Saturday, November 19th FLC Craft Fair and throught out the Advent Season. Shopping there could solve your dilemma of what to buy for "the person who has everything" and help others in need--a win-win situation! Added this year will be information about Global Missions and Global Health Ministries featuring especially the mission field of Madagascar.
