Pastor Glen's focus for his message for

this upcoming weekend:

Our celebrations of Easter with the pastel colors and cute bunnies and chicks and sweet treats is no match for the real thing. The first Easter came with earthquakes and angels appearing like lightning that left the soldiers unconscious on the ground. It was an amazing and frightening moment that turns the world upside-down, a violent act that transforms endings into beginnings and brings us back to where it all began.

Phase 2 Work Day April 18th

The next phase of our important work at the Potters field site at the Blair cemetery will be taking place this spring. In the next few weeks we'll have another round of tree work by Steve Hytrek of NuView landscaping that will hopefully open up the entire site to the northern boundary. On Saturday, April 18th, we will begin the process of planting ground cover to hold up at the bank on the South side of the site, where there has been erosion over the years. With thanks to Milt and Jane Heinrich for their donation, we will be transplanting Lamium from their home to the cemetery site. We will begin at the Henrich house at 8:00 am with the process of digging up plants and then beginning at 9:00 am we will be planting at the Potters field site. Please bring small hand shovels, a wheelbarrow if you have one, and wear work gloves. There is a sign-up sheet at the welcome center with more details.

Women’s Bible Study

Ladies…now that the holidays are behind us, are you looking for something to keep the spirit of Christmas alive in your hearts and in your lives?  Come and join other ladies on Friday mornings as we begin a new study about women of the Bible entitled “Brave and Beloved” by Meredith Storrs.

“Women of the Bible are just like us, but their particular lives, choices, and problems can sometimes feel foreign when we read them today.  Through their stories, we can glimpse a vision of what it means to be a godly woman, but sometimes their experiences leave us scratching our heads.  This Bible study looks specifically at key women in Scripture to discover how their stories upend cultural expectations and reveal the nature and character of the God who created us all.”

This Bible study meets on Friday mornings from 9:15 to 10:45 in the church library.  No need to sign up, just show up.  Questions?  Email Susie Pinquoch at spinquoch@gmail.com or call (402) 533-3735.
