HABITAT for HUMANITY is planning to repair five homes in Blair in 2021! If you care to donate toward this worthy cause you may put your gift in the envelope which you received at a worship service last weekend and return it to the church office--OR you may pick up an envelope and information at the FLC Welcome Center and return it to the office with your gift.

FLC will be volunteering at the Washington County Recycling Center on Saturday, August 28th and your help is needed. We wish to obtain a minimum of 10 workers for slots at 8-10am and 10am – noon. BackPack Program

Our kids will soon be back to school!  School breakfasts and lunches help sustain those who are food insecure during the week but what about the weekends?   One answer to this dilemma is the BackPack Program sponsored by Food Bank for the Heartland who supplies over 8000 packs filled with healthy food for those children to take home on Friday afternoons.  If you’d like to make a donation to this worthy cause, you may do so online at https://donate.foodbankheartland.org or by mailing your contribution to:  Foodbank for the Heartland  Attn: BackPack Program, 10525 J Street, Omaha, NE 68127.

Please note there is both a plastic and a wooden Receptacle for gifts to the WASHINGTON COUNTY FOOD PANTRY are available to receive your food donations at FLC at any time!

FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH SUMMER GARDEN SHARE

This year First Lutheran gardeners will be donating vegetables and fruits to be given to families who receive the food assistance through First Lutheran Church. FLC gardeners are asked to bring their donated vegetables and fruits to the church on Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or, preferably, on Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Signs will be in place directing the donors as to where in the Fellowship Hall the vegetables should be placed. Because of this change, gardeners are encouraged to stick with the basic vegetables or fruits which they have grown. Thank you in advance to ALL of our generous FLC gardeners!
