Pastor Glen's focus for his message for

this upcoming weekend:

Nobody likes to be told what they have to do. That's just human nature. We learn to resist as toddlers and that struggle continues into adulthood. So what does it mean that worship comes with obligations too? Sacraments are not choices, they are acts commanded by Jesus so that we might, in an intentional way, gather in the promise of God and experience it so deeply that it goes with us into our everyday life. We are God's covenant to the world, we are his pledge of grace. It is our worship life that makes it so. Discipleship includes the necessary work of worship, of making our worship gatherings possible and effective. How can you serve in worship and grow in your discipleship?

Greetings from the Call Committee:

Another candidate forum has been added on Saturday,

January 10th at 6:00pm 

At this time, the Call Committee is working with the Congregational Council to hold candidate forums with Pastor Glen Thomas. These forums are not to be confused with the budget forums, which are being held on January 17th, 18th, and 21st.

Rather, they are a time for congregants to bring their questions, answers, and concerns to the forefront. Members of the Call Committee and Council will be present at each forum.

There will be four forums you can attend:

Saturday, January 10th at 6:00pm

Sunday, January 11th between services

Sunday, January 11th at 11:15am

Wednesday, January 14th at 6:45pm

There has been a majority vote-to-call from the Call Committee

and from the Council. 

The Call Committee and Council are currently reviewing

Pastor Glen's interim contract.

Tax Information

To ensure the deductibility of your church contributions, please do not file your 2025 income tax return until you have received a written acknowledgement of your contributions from the church. Some of your contributions may not be tax-deductible if you file your tax return before receiving a written acknowledgement of your contributions from the church. Year-end statements will be available by the end of January.

2026 Winter Women's Retreat is coming up

in January!

It’s time for the 2026 Winter Women’s Retreat! This is always a fun event packed with great speakers, great food and great music. This year it will be held on Saturday January 17, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE. Grab a friend and join in the fun! Sign up sheets are on the women’s table.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

 ATTENTION High School Seniors and College Students: The Christian Growth Board is accepting scholarship applications for the 2026-2027 school year for post-secondary education. Any member of FLC that is currently a high school senior or college student may apply. Applications are available on the church website or by the Welcome Center. New Christ in Our Homes

Christ in Our Homes-If you would like a Christ in Our Homes daily

devotional they are available at the Welcome Center in the

Narthex and also on the usher table outside of the LIFE Center for January, February, and March. The Christ in Our Homes is a book that has a daily

devotional to read and pray. Please stop by and pick one up if you would like or if you need one delivered please call the church office

The W.O.W. meal menu for Wednesday, January 14th is Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Corn,

Fruit, and Dessert!

Join us for the W.O.W. Meal in the Fellowship Hall from

5:30 pm – 6:15 pm prior to Worship Lab.

Come at 5:30 to fuel your body and then stay for Worship Lab at 6:15 to feed your soul.

Pastor Glen's Office Hours

Pastor Glen will be keeping walk-in office hours on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9am to 12 pm and on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. and is available by appointment anytime Monday through Thursday.

Reminder: If you are hospitalized or having a medical procedure it is important that you contact Pastor Glen directly because the hospitals will not call the church. You can text or call Pastor Glen at 402-740-6395 or

e-mail him at pastorglen@firstlutheranblair.org. Also, if you need to get in to the church and it is locked you can also reach out to

Pastor Glen to let you in.
