Pastor Glen's focus for his message for

this upcoming weekend:

In a work where words matter, few matter more than “inspired.” For many in the church, it is an idea that, when applied to the Bible, protects it from harm and misuse. In actuality, it imprisons the living Word that the scriptures reveal and obstructs our mission and our discipleship. We live in a moment not unlike Paul, passing on wisdom and inspiration to his companion Timothy in the face of imperial persecution, or like Luther trying to be heard in a church overly deafened by the ways of the world. And now we are the poor widow seeking justice and clinging to the God of our hope.

Flowers on the Altar this Weekend,

October 18th and 19th

The flowers on the altar this weekend, October 18th and 19th are in honor of Wes and Esther Gunderson's 60th Wedding Anniversary on

October 23rd.

Do you have old magazines piled up?

Please donate them to FLC for our children's and youth craft activities. We especially need magazines geared toward sports/hunting/nature/outdoors. But we'll take them all!!

THANK YOU!!

Blair Crop Walk will be this Sunday, October 19th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Lion's Park. More details are in the October Ambassador.

Social Concerns Committee:

This is the final weekend for the Garden Market. As a special end-of-season bonus, all Equal Exchange products in stock will be available at a 50% discount.

Summer Garden Market Now Available to First Lutheran Members: With the Blessing of the Fruits held at services on the weekend of June 28th and 29th, the Summer Garden Market is officially open for business. Those attending services on Saturday evening and the two Sunday morning services will be able to pick up vegetables, fruits and baked goods prior to or after the service. These products will be grown or baked by First Lutheran gardeners or bakers. This market will be open throughout the summer and into the fall months. Members obtaining these products are asked to contribute a free-will donation which will go to Lutheran World Relief.

Donated garden produce and baked goods can be brought in on Friday during the day or on Saturday afternoon after 4:00 p.m. prior to the 5:00 p.m. service. Produce can also be brought in prior to the 8:15 and 10:15 services on Sunday. The donated items can be placed on the garden cart in the narthex of the church. As any Farmer’s market, produce should be clean and neatly arranged.

Often gardeners find themselves with extra produce or baked goods. Why not bring these goods to the market at First Lutheran. By doing so, you will be providing worshippers an opportunity to obtain some very nutritious and wonderful food as well as support a very worthwhile cause. We will see you at the market!!

ATTENTION FLC MEMBERS!!

FLC is now using a new database called Realm. This database is used to organize our membership records. This system also tracks all our financial giving, enables us to do scheduling, and Realm collects all kinds of information to help us be a better church.

The really unique thing about Realm is that YOU, the congregation, can update, edit, and control all of your own data in the system. You can change your address, add an email preference, tell us where you'd like to be more involved at FLC, see your giving information, and so much more.

If you would like to do this from home please email Vince at vkrysl@firstlutheranblair.org to request a login.

We hope to have all our FLC members update their profiles and begin interacting on Realm by the end of 2025.

Do you participate in our online worship services?

If you watch our services on Facebook or other sites, please like the post or leave a comment each time. This will help us improve our accuracy in attendance numbers at First Lutheran.
