Teacher Appreciation Week
What a year this 2020-2021 school year has been! We are so grateful for our teachers and all the challenges they have dealt with, so we wanted to make sure they felt all the love last week during our Teacher Appreciation Week. Keep reading to see all the ways the teachers were spoiled this week.
So Long School, Hello Summer
The theme of the week was to prepare our teachers for their well deserved summer break. Each day they received a themed gift to equip them for their first days of relaxation.
Day 1 - Italian Meal
Not only did Administration treat all staff to an Italian lunch for the day, they also treated our teachers to a gift basket with a recipe and all the ingredients to prepare another Italian meal at home.
Day 2 - Movie Night
Gift baskets for the day were filled with everything teachers need for a movie night.
Day 3 - Day at the Beach
Wednesday was special as teachers were able to participate in a walkthrough luau hosted by Family Engagement. Teachers were able to win prizes, have photo ops, get a frozen treat and pick up their special gift for the day - a beach bag filled with all the beach essentials like sunscreen, towel, treats and more!
Day 4 - Picnic in the Park
Teachers received personalized outdoor blankets that carried picnic essentials for a warm summer day.
Day 5 - Pancake Breakfast
Our teachers deserve a good breakfast. So not only did they receive gift baskets filled with the ingredients and some kitchen tools to assist with a breakfast over the summer, they also received boxed breakfasts for the day. As a memento for the school year, the teachers also received framed art with suns drawn by their students and the saying "Thank You for Helping Us Shine."
Many thanks to our Family Engagement Leaders, Sheena Clark and Alicia Salagubang, for planning and coordinating such a thoughtful and special week for our teachers!
Thank you to our FLEC Family!
  • Friends of FLEC volunteers who helped with all the behind the scenes preparations.
  • Students who purchased the daily gifts and wrote thoughtful notes to the teachers.
Continue to Give Hope
Last week we introduced the Hope Fund, an emergency assistance fund for our faculty and staff. If you would like to continue teacher appreciation beyond teacher appreciation week, we invite you to consider making a donation (one-time or monthly), so that help and HOPE is available when they need it most.
