As we approach the end of the Spring Semester, I just wanted to remind everyone of our Spring End of Semester Festival that will take place on Tuesday, May 20th. Please see additional details below. Also, we are excited to be introducing a Summer Semester with classes primarily held at Holy Cross Village. Look for additional details about the Summer Semester very soon!
Fall course requests went out to instructors recently. If you know anyone who might be interested in teaching in the fall semester please have them reach out to me.

Summer Semester 2025
Mark your calendars as Forever Learning Institute will now be offering a six week long summer semester this year in collaboration with Holy Cross Village and Elks Lodge.
All classes will be held at either Holy Cross Village,
St. Joseph County Parks, Elks Lodge, or Zoom.
We are excited to be able to offer this!
Registration will begin June 16!

Spring End of Semester Festival
POTLUCK LUNCHEON
TUESDAY, May 20th
11:00am to 1:00pm

This festival is an opportunity for classes to share their
learned classroom activities and celebrate the end of
another successful semester with fellow FLI students!
Come share a meal and conversation at this FREE event for all to enjoy!
We ask everyone attending to
bring a dish and/or dessert to share.
FLI will supply beverages,
utensils, and paper goods.
Attendees will enjoy table displays and performances first, then enjoy lunch.
No need to register, just come and enjoy!
Outside friends & family are welcome.

Owner's Suite Experience with the South Bend Cubs
Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 11am
Enjoy a great American pastime with a day at the ballpark cheering on the South Bend Cubs. Forever Travel is offering an owner's suite experience complete with prime indoor seating, a full buffet lunch, refreshments, and lots of goodies and memorabilia. Trip includes optional bus transportation from Forever Learning and back. Skip the long walk to the stadium and the hassle and cost of parking.

Join the Forever Learning Institute for an enlightening experience as we explore South Bend’s history through a fresh lens. We'll visit The History Museum and the Civil Rights Heritage Center, offering a rare chance to discover local treasures that highlight the city's history from diverse viewpoints. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain new insights into our community's past!
This excursion will include lunch at The History Museum and alternating presentations. Transportation provided by Cardinal Buses, picking up at FLI.

Portugal and the Douro River Cruise

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta
Join FLI for a high flying trip
October 9th–14th, 2026
Founded in 1972, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta began with just 13 balloons and has since grown into a spectacular event featuring over 600 balloons from around the globe. Immerse yourself in the charm of historic Albuquerque, a city steeped in Native American culture, as you witness the breathtaking "mass ascension" of uniquely shaped balloons soaring into the sky at sunrise. Explore the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, stroll through the captivating streets of Old Town, and discover the beauty of Santa Fe, nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at the foothills of the Rockies. The tour also includes a visit to the Pecos National Historic Park, home to ancient archaeological ruins and 19th-century ranches, offering a rich blend of history and adventure.

Our Founder, Fr. Louis J. Putz, C.S.C.
Fr. Putz viewed life as a chain with three distinct links: the age of learning, the age of earning, and the age of returning. As he approached retirement in the early ‘70s, he envisioned a school for the “third-agers,” where students returned to share their collective experience, knowledge, and talent in service to others.
As Fr. Putz often said, “Service adds years to your life and life to your years.” He envisioned a school for seniors who would come together for the pure joy of learning and social interaction, as well as personal and spiritual growth.
On September 27, 1974, that vision became a reality.
