ANNOUNCEMENTS

Provincial Championship Results

It was wonderful to witness the excitement and to celebrate the learning and accomplishments of the 80 FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams that competed at the Ontario Provincial Championship events lasts weekend. Congratulations to all of the participating and award-winning teams and good luck to those that are advancing to international competitions in Texas, California, Massachusetts, Florida and South Africa this spring! Please visit the following links for more information about these STEAMazing events:

While this teaser video, shown at the event, doesn't reveal much about what is in store for the 2025-26 season, we hope that you are as excited as we are and look forward to seeing your teams next season!

FTC Provincial Championship Event

Would your team like to showcase the FIRST LEGO League Challenge program at the upcoming FIRST Tech Challenge Ontario Provincial Championship at Brock University in St. Catharines on Sunday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.? The commitment involves showcasing your team’s robot on a game table that will be set up in a high-traffic area at the event, explaining your team's Innovation Project, and conveying the impact of participation in FIRST LEGO League Challenge to event spectators and passers-by. If your team is only available for a half day, we would still welcome your participation from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please contact Annika Pint to express interest and thank you for considering!

FIRST LEGO League Explore

Do you feel a void in your life now that the FIRST LEGO League Challenge season has wrapped up? Are you looking for something to do in the off season? Would you like to introduce younger students to the experience of working as a team, learning about and solving real-world problems and preparing to become part of a FIRST LEGO League Challenge team in later years.

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then the FIRST LEGO League Explore program might be right for you! In this year's SUBMERGED season, students are learning about ocean life and how to safely observe and support a variety of ocean habitats and there are countless ways in which activities in the Team Meeting Guide align with expectations in the Mathematics, Language and Science curricula.

If you are convinced that the program is a good fit for the youth in your lives, please visit www.firstroboticscanada.org/fll/explore or reach out to Annika Pint at annika.pint@firstroboticscanada.org for more information about starting teams or implementing this STEAMazing program in your classroom!

Enter to Win!

Thank you for participating in the 2024-25 FIRST LEGO League Challenge Submerged season! We hope that your team had a positive experience at your qualifying tournaments and that you have taken time to reflect upon and celebrate all of your learning and accomplishments from throughout the season.

To help FIRST Robotics Canada learn about the impact of participation and to be entered into a prize draw for a chance to WIN a brand new LEGO SPIKE Prime Core Set for your team, all coaches and team members are invited to complete the survey at this LINK. One entry will be selected on Monday, February 10 and the winner announced in the Program Update so please be sure to complete it while the season is still fresh in your memories.
