Students aged 10 to 17 who are not content just to use a computer but need to understand
the guts of applications and programming will find satisfaction at
CompuCamp
. This high
level, hands-on training is so complete that participants with a working knowledge of an
operating system like Windows (Mac and Unix users welcome, too!) will leave with a thorough
understanding of the ins and outs of computers. Three sessions let us limit class size so
each student gets personalized attention from our skilled instructors.

The CURIE Academy is a one-week summer residential program for high school girls who excel in math and science. The focus is on juniors and seniors who may not have had prior opportunities to explore engineering, but want to learn more about the many opportunities in engineering in an interactive atmosphere.
Cornell University's faculty and graduate students will lead CURIE participants in classes, lab sessions, and project research. Social events, panel discussions, and other out-of-classroom activities will provide participants with opportunities to network informally with Cornell faculty, staff, and students.

Once accepted the students are a part of a dynamic three year program which consists of three one-month summer sessions and year-round professional mentoring. This program gives students the competitive edge when applying to colleges and universities. Upon completion of the program students are eligible for their share of the $50,000 scholarship money awarded annually.

Summer Leaders Experience - Westpoint

Program Description:
Through the Summer Leaders Seminar, rising high school seniors are introduced to a completely different college experience and are given an opportunity to understand what studying at a service academy is like. This is a week-long immersion in academic, military, and social life for those considering an institution such as West Point. Students will explore the experience of a service academy from all angles, including some intense military training and athletic activities. This is the best way to gauge the challenges you will encounter as a cadet in college. The Summer Leaders Seminar is a fast-paced program of academic classes, military training, physical fitness training and intramural athletics over one week of residential stay. West Point cadets serve as squad leaders for all aspects of the seminar.

Lincoln Labratory Radar Introduction for Student Engineers (LLRISE)

The Lincoln Laboratory Radar Introduction for Student Engineers (LLRISE) program is a summer workshop teaching 18 students how to build small radar systems. This summer STEM program is a FREE two-week residential project-based enrichment program for outstanding students currently in their junior year in high school. Students will gain an in-depth experience in building small radar systems. Participants will be challenged to build a Doppler and range radar by using creative problem-solving strategies. This hands-on program allows students to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory with highly talented scientists and engineers.

Summer College Engineering Exposure Program

Program Description
:
The SCEEP program is designed to familiarize students with various engineering disciplines offered at UM and to acquaint them with the university campus, support services, and other resources. Thirty students are accepted to take part in each session and participants attend three core classes. Technical Communications, Engineering Concepts, Engineering Math, and Professional Development throughout the eleven days of the program. Students work on a team engineering design challenge project and a professional portfolio within those classes. Their experience is enhanced by guided tours of engineering departments and facilities. Informal discussions with College of Engineering alumni, faculty, staff, and students serve to further enhance students experience.

Michigan Introduction to Engineering

Program Description
:
The MITE program is designed to excite, engage, educate, and empower students with an integrated curriculum that centers on an engineering-based challenge. The program takes place in June and forty students are accepted to the program. The students attend four key academic classes: Engineering Concepts, Technical Communications, Engineering Math, and Professional Development. These classes are designed to support the engineering design challenge on which the students will be focused during the course of the fourteen day program. Students also participate in workshops on entrepreneurship, cultural engagement, and college preparation and selection. Guided tours of the College of Engineering and other University facilities, along with outdoor recreation activities, serve to further enhance the MITE experience. One session of MITE will be offered in 2016. Student who attended MITE last year (summer of 2015) should not apply, but are highly encouraged to SCEEP next year!
