Despite the rainy weather and Los Angeles traffic, it was a full house for the "Annual Meet the Judges Night" hosted by the Beverly Hills Bar Association and co-sponsored by the Los Angeles County Bar Association. BHBA Family Law Section Co Chairs Erin Grey (below, right) and Chelsea Stevens (below, left) spent many hours planning this years event, and did the honors of introducing the Family Law Judicial Officers in attendance.

At this year's "Meet the Judges Night", Family Law Supervising Judge, Hon. Shelley Kaufman, spoke about the successes and challenges facing the Los Angeles Superior Court, the largest Family Law Court in the world. Thank you to all of the Los Angeles Family Law Judges in attendance for your time and dedication to the Family Law Community, and to all of the BHBA staff and fellow sponsors for helping make this event possible!

At this years annual retreat, the focus of discussion was Culture, and our vision for the future of FMBK.

On Day 2, The FMBK Team welcomed Gideon Grunfeld of "Rainmaking for Lawyers" to guide the culture discussion, lead team building exercises and wrap up a weekend of productive conversations before heading to Mastro's to celebrate another successful FMBK retreat!

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers never fails to put on some of the nation's most profound family law continuing education programs. The Webinar Committee Team has been hard at work planning this year's AAML National Webinars, including Committee Chair Steve Mindel, AAML Content Associate Mary Dietel, and Vice Chairs Aidan Welsh and Amy Keating.

The keynote speaker for this year's luncheon was Los Angeles Superior Court Judge and USC Gould Alumni, the Hon. E. Carlos Dominguez (pictured below, far left). Judge Dominguez pointed Steve Mindel out of the audience and told the story of how 20 years ago, he was a 1st year law student and Steve was his mentor. Now Judge Dominquez continues to pay it forward by being a mentor and role model to the USC Gould School of Law Alumni and students.
