Call for Student and Resident Board Members
In 2023, the FMEC Board of Trustees expanded from 15 to 17 members to add a medical student and a resident. The FMEC is seeking a medical student and a resident to join the FMEC Board in late 2025 to get up to speed and then assume their official terms for 2026-2027. The commitment is nearly 2 years, during which time the candidates must be actively enrolled in either a medical school or a family medicine residency training program in the FMEC region (14 states +DC – see the list on the FMEC website) or at an international medical school which has an active FMEC Partnership (see FMEC Partner list). Interested students and residents apply online (FMEC Student/Resident Board Position Application) by October 13, 2025.
AAFP Chapter Events
On Friday, September 19 from 9pm-10pm, receptions will be held by both the New York State Academy of Family Physicians (Room 26B) and the Ohio AAFP (Room 25C). On Saturday, September 20 from 7am to 8pm the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians will convene its Program Director’s Meeting (Room 19).
