Who Are We?
FMI STEM Academy is a boutique career-prep school committed to helping 6th-12th-grade students develop the academic persistence to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math careers!!!

We provide students with hands-on experiences that build skills and answers the 'why we need to know math?' question.
Summer Camp 2023

Funding Needed for Projects in 2024
$EED MONEY TO LAUNCH DREAM ACADEMY
We are uniquely equipped to address one of the greatest needs in education: providing innovative STEM education.
Therefore, with support from West Orange Dream Center in Winter Garden, we are looking to launch DREAM ACADEMY, a school focused on changing the career-life projection of students who need a non-traditional learning environment to thrive academically. Funding is needed to retrofit a space to create multiple classrooms. In addition, we will need funding to purchase laptops, 2D and 3D printers, augmented/virtual reality headsets, funding for career exploration field trips, and more. Goal: $50,000.

CERTIFICATIONS
One student completed COMP TIA IT Fundamentals and two completed the Phlebotomy certification. The average cost is $400/student, including curriculum, equipment, uniform, and the exam. Certifications prepare students for entry-level jobs in demand in the job market. Next year, we will continue our current certifications and expand our offerings to include Microsoft Office (MOS) certification. In addition, we'd like to provide 5 additional scholarships in 2024. The cost is $2,000 or $200/10 months.

MOBILE LEARNING CENTER
The MLC will serve as an extra FMI classroom. Long term, it will be redesigned and stocked with equipment to offer mobile STEM activities. The cost is $20,000 to redesign the space and $3,000 to purchase needed equipment. We are asking that one to four supporters help us generate $20,000 and three supporters give $100/month/10 months to purchase the equipment.

GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT 2023
MICHAEL WARD
Michael Ward's journey at FMI began in the summer of 2019 when he attended a math-tech camp as an 8th grader. He demonstrated superb academic persistence and completed the majority of the
Pre-Algebra curriculum that summer.

In 2021, he became a student at FMI and immediately got to work as an SGA member. He graduated in May 2023 and was accepted at Stetson University. His educational goal is to become a veterinarian.

Michael, we wish you the best!!!!
In life, we must build a fence at the edge of a cliff to keep people from falling off, as well as, extend a rope to those who have gone over the edge. Education is the fence and programs that restore an individual's dignity and self-sufficiency are the rope. Sensei Frazier
