Dear Ones,
Today's installment of "From My Living Room to Yours" was inspired by a conversation I had recently with parishioners. As I write this, I realize I was also influenced by the writing of Richard Rohr whose book many of us are enjoying. Feel free to drop me a line if you'd like to talk about some part of your spiritual journey.
Speaking of enjoying, I know many of you are actually NOT enjoying the continued restrictions on our worship. Please remember that any restriction we currently endure is designed to keep safe those who are more vulnerable to COVID-19. Like our liturgy, this is a communal effort! I plan to write up a Frequently Asked Questions about the realities of our communal worship soon; in the meantime, know that your Grace-filled Regathering Options (GRO) Task Force is working hard to come up with innovative solutions to create the most access possible for the most people. Here's a write-up  about our Drive-In Church which was shared with the diocese (we're currently the only congregation making use of this option!).
In Christ's love,
P.S. We've discovered that, since we no longer have to have our windows rolled-up at Drive-In Church, most of the service is audible without the radio station. I hope you'll join us! And, for those of you who prefer a more contemplative service, we hope to start an outdoor service without music at 8 am on September 20th.

Showers of Blessings & Saturday Meal Restart
Volunteers Needed; Reservations Required
Thanks to the careful planning of our outreach teams, we now have permission to begin offering showers and a sack lunch to-go starting September 5th. However, we have a few holes in our schedule of volunteers, so if you can help, please contact the respective ministry lead. For Saturday Meals, contact Gigi Miller either by text (760-420-4438) or email. For Showers of Blessings, text or call Allan Dorsey (310-600-2305). Please don't show up to help without having contacted the ministry lead, as we need to know in advance who will be present.
