Dear Ones,
In today’s installment of “From My Living Room to Yours,” I explore the idea that—at some point—we’ll be able to transform the grief we’re currently experiencing. The first step, however, is acknowledging the depth and breadth of the stress and grief we are all consumed by in the midst of this unimaginable pandemic.
I thought you’d also enjoy having a sneak peek into the newly refurbished walk-in freezer (see above photo). It’s not sexy, but it is VERY practical! The Food Pantry team will not only be able to store more frozen food for our neighbors in need, but our energy efficiency will be a great benefit to our monthly utility bill. Our Giving Tuesday fundraiser collected just over double the amount for the full project (we also have to build a metal cover on the outdoor compressor to prevent the vandalism we’ve experienced in the past), and the balance of those funds are earmarked to directly benefit the Food Pantry. We’ll let you know what project is able to be completed next!
