Shout out to John F. Hartranft School, which was featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this month! Hartranft's School Advisory Council (SAC) formed a relationship with the school's local police district to expand its community ties. When the police learned that the school's music teacher had left, they decided to step in and help out! Check out the feature from Inquirer education reporter Kristen A. Graham.

What Do You Want to See in Your Student's Science Class? Let us Know!
The Office of Curriculum and Instruction will be soon releasing their K-12 Science Instructional Guide. This document will articulate a clear vision and plan that will lead to outstanding, rigorous, and equitable science instruction in the District. It will guide how your student learns science in school every day.

We will be holding a feedback session for students and families on Thursday, June 9, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and we hope you can attend! The session will be held in English, but interpretation services will be available by request in the eight other major languages. Interested students and families can register at tinyurl.com/SDPsciencefeedback. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

The District-Wide Survey Closes June 10!
Take 10 minutes to speak up as your child's biggest champion!
The survey asks questions about key topics that matter a lot for our schools. District and school leaders can use response information to understand strengths and challenges across all schools and in each school. Families and community members can also look at the information to get a better idea about different schools.

Participation in the confidential survey is voluntary and school officials will not know who completed the survey or how you responded. Learn more in preparation for the survey opening and thank you in advance for participating!
