Father God, we first and foremost just want to say thank You. We thank You for the things we know You have done. We thank You for all the things we did not realize that You've done in our lives, even the things that You are doing right now. There is no shortage of issues in our lives, most of which are out of our control: the pandemic, virus after virus, global warming, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, forest fires, Haiti, Afghanistan, Black lives matter, carjackings, murders, gun violence, right to life, voter suppression, just to name a few. Yes, we are troubled on every side,
yet not distressed. We are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed (1st Corinthians 4:7-9). You, God, have seen fit to allow those reading or listening to this prayer another opportunity to worship You in spirit and in truth for it could have been any one of us sleeping in the grave. It is because of You that we breathe, that we move, that we live, that we have our being. We thank You for our health and strength, the activity of our limbs, a regulated mind, our families, our homes, food on our tables, clothes on our backs, our jobs, our church family, and the fellowship that we share. There are so many blessings that You have given that we cannot touch. Blessings we cannot see. Blessings we take for granted so today we acknowledge that every good and perfect thing comes from You. Continue to have Your way and let Your will be done confidently in the truth of Your Holy Word knowing that ALL things are working together for our good whether on the land or on the stormy sea. This is where our faith and our only hope lies which is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
